Got my copy of ΩRαS from Amazon earlier. I literally cried during the opening. It was so well done. Beautiful.

I recently started playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube.
Really enjoying it, the game gives off a really comforting and relaxing feeling, the music is also very soothing.

I can keep playing this for a long while.

I'm currently replaying Persona 4 and it's just super comfy. I'm hanging out with friends, catching bugs, fish, ride my bike around town...
Can anyone recommend any other games, which have this slice-of-life feel to them?
Visual Novels are okay, too!

How much have you tried of this list? >>252

Oh, this is looking neat, thank you!
I should have read the thread more carefully, will definitely try these.

Does anyone else still play text adventures? I've been getting back into Zork recently. It's a refreshing experience to play a game without graphics and sound.

It's been a while, but I love Adventure.

Most of Infocom's games are really good, but my favorites are probably Buracracy (written by Douglas Adams!) and Trinity, a trippy time travel game.

I've been trying to beat final fantasy III on the DS, and I didn't understand why my party kept getting defeated. I didn't want to refer to an FAQ, so I just kept on trying. I soon realized I had to fight all of the dark crystals. And then I finally won. To top that off, my black belt and my summoner have job levels of 99, so, while it's a very minor achievement, I'm very proud of my self.

I've been debating buying that. How good/fun is it? How is the story? I've been wanting to figure out which final fantasy for the 3DS is the best one, and then play the shit out of it.

This is a trailer for a horror game called OMORI coming for PC/Mac/3DS in 2016. It has a Earthbound on bad acid vibe to it.

As a slow gamer, is it worth picking up a PSP now? They're coming up cheap on ebay, but the only games on the platform I can really think of to play are the Wipeout series and Disgaea.

Oh hell yeah dude.
Also Star Wars Battle Front.
Medal Of Honor.
FF Crisis Core.

Thanks for that, I hadn't realised there was that much on the platform! To be honest, Wipeout and Disgaea had me sold on it but I've always wanted to play Ace Combat & Armored Core too.

So I only just now realized that in the newest Smash Bros you can make Samus and Shulk both...fight in swimsuits. Why has this fact not been all over the net? Why has no one told me? How have I owned this game for months and not noticed this? More importantly, can my 4 gigabyte SD card hold all these screenshots I'm taking? Because I'd fuck them both and 4 gigabytes might not be enough.

Jesus christ Cave Story is amazing.

Nintendo World Championships made me all giddy. Smash, Mario Kart and especially Super mario maker were intense!

>>278
It really is. Probably my favourite platformer. When you are exploring the zones between two hard fights, nothing comes quite close to it. And there are so many secrets to find!

The Last Guardian looking beautiful reminded me that I should really get around to play both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
Are there any other other games with this calm, lonely atmosphere?

I've wanted to set up a Mineest server for all the textboards since forever but I've never had the hardware.

I think you can purchase dedicated hosting for Minecraft, I've seen shit go as low as 5 smackaroonies a month.
Maybe when I get around to it I'll get a credit card to pay for a few months since my debit card seems to dislike the internet. Or maybe you guys could pony up. Gathering 5 or 10 bucks a month doesn't seem that hard, does it? We are more than 5 people here, right?

I'd pitch in for it. I haven't played Minecraft in years, but if there was a Post Office server I'd be willing to hop back on.

I'd be down for Minetest but I don't feel like buying proprietary software.
293 Name: Anonymous : 2015-10-11 12:04

A free solution sounds like a better idea, too. The price of a license for Minecraft has gone up a lot since I bought it all those years ago!

Setting up a Minecraft server to accept non-registered users (read: people who didn't purchase Minecraft) is trivially easy. I opt for Minecraft because to my understanding, it has way more third party content available. If you guys have moral qualms about acquiring closed-source software through alternative means though, then Minetest it is, although you won't find readily available pre-configured servers for Minetest.

It's not like it's hard to set one up. I just don't have the hardware for it.

Who would have thought – Breath of the Wild is pretty iyashikei. I'm spending most of the time just relaxing and exploring on my own pace. Most fights can be entirely sidestepped. Climbing cliffs and finding nice, scenic spots is an reward in itself.
This is great!

Most Zelda games are pretty comfy. The fishing is my favorite thing about Ocarina. Twilight Princess has a really great fishing hole too.
I really wanna play Breath of the Wild, but I'm unfortunately broke. How does it compare to the Elder Scrolls games in terms of world size and exploration?

Someone ported Spelunky Classic to Android, so I've been rediscovering my addiction.

It's really good. Really, really good. The exploring is the best part. I hate to gush about it, so I'll keep it short but a game like Breath of the Wild is one that I've been waiting for all my life. It's everything I wanted in the exploration aspect of Wind Waker.

Exploration's always been my favorite thing about Zelda games, so that sounds awesome. I've been thinking about getting a Switch. I think I'll wait for a price drop and more games, though.
It's funny. As much shit as Nintendo gets for being "kiddy," the older I get, the more they're the only current console maker whose stuff appeals to me.

I have bought a switch more or less on a whim with Zelda.
Honestly, I have way too much fun with it.
Going through the story at a snail's pace, constantly busy exploring and doing things on the side and discovering new things, it's a great experience that I haven't had with any games in a long time.

Though I do regret spoiling myself, even if it was just a little bit of the beginning of the game, it would've been nicer if I didn't watch it on youtube out of curiosity.

Modding dwarf fortress has become a sort of hobby of mine as of late.

What sort of things by a do you do? I never would have thought of a game like Dwarf Fortress as having a mod scene.

It started with the simple things, adding silly text to things. Now I can create materials, creatures, civilizations with a myriad of ethics and book strings. DF is quite a lot of fun this way; especially when the vanilla game's become rather... tame. (Nooo, come back, sieges! I miss yoooouuu!)
