I have a laptop, but it's more of a desktop; it's wired to my tv, and I have a wireless keyboard/mouse. I have two smartphones, but because I only need one phone, I made the other one my general use android. I use them all!

The beach by far! Going to the beach is relaxing, energizing, inspiring and so many other things!
That softly strong smell, it is nostalgic even at the first time. That myriad of sounds all flowing right into our ears. The sand, don't forget about the sand! Soft, crunchy and comfortable. And then there is the sea, the often-ally we visit but cannot settle with, that loves us but lives her in own freedom.

Hello friend >>41, what is your favorite discontinued food?
41 Name: Paperplane : 2019-05-12 07:25

It's kinda niche but in a local grocery chain they used to sell vanilla (and chocolate) pudding in small plastic cups but they made it all fluffy by adding whipped cream to it. Ususally you find pudding with a layer of whipped cream on top but this brand mixed it into the pudding which gave it a really enjoyable texture and taste compared to the more liduiqd/gooey regular pudding.
I loved to eat those as a kid after lunch/dinner. But now looking for them I can't find them anymore and I think they discontinued it.

My significant other got me big a book that has most of Lovecraft's stories in it. It was compiled by a scholar who also wrote lots of annotations into the texts which give lots of background info about Names, language, Lovecraft himself etc. Sometimes with pictures of Lovecraft's hand written letters/notes and photographs of actual places mentioned or alluded to in the stories. On top of that, this huge tome has a really nice design which makes it look like some old warlock's spellbook or so.
The best thing is, she gifted me it without any special reason, just because she knows I would like it.

>>85 What's your favorite insect?
85 Name: Anonymous : 2019-06-11 14:11

I would have to say among insects, I most prefer the dragonfly. Not only do they prey on mosquitoes, but they are also a good indictator that the ecology of the surrounding environment is low in toxins, because their nymphs need very clean water. Moreover, they have that lovely sheen to their carapace

>>86
What's your favorite childhood memory?
86 Name: Paperplane : 2019-06-11 14:45
>>85
Exellent choice of insect. Just yesterday read about them and didn't know that they are predators that also hunt mosquitoes.

My favourite childhood memory is probably one of several of me and my best friend playing pretend during elementary school times. At first we didn't like each other but during a field trip we walked next to each other by accident and after talking noticed that we have more in common than expected and thus a great friendship unfolded.
We met always daily and pretended to be knights and wizards by swinging sticks around. It was at the timt the LOTR movies aired so we imagined our sticks to be swords and that we were fighting against orcs and othee monsters. We imagined whole storylines complete with "NPCs", recurring places, quests, rewards etc. and after playtime was over, we met the next day and continued where we left off yesterday. Star Wars, LOTR, Zelda and Secret/Sword of Mana were major inspirations for our "games" and we kinda made a mish mash out of all of these.
I miss having such vivid imagination. In my mind I was really standing there on a battlefield and the stick really was a sword. This friend was also the only one I could do this with because all my other friends lacked interest/imagination so the whole thing will always have a special place in my heart.
Sometimes when we were fed up with one "game" we just started anew, starting as the unlikely heros of a village until fighting our way to be knights with our own keeps and servants.

I guess having such an affinity for play pretend paved the way for my current affiliation with TTRPGs like D&D and stuff.

>>88 What's your favorite candy?
88 Name: Anonymous : 2019-06-30 03:14

Licorice. While it's really popular in my country, I just can't get enough of it. I love just about every variety there is.

Now, "allsorts licorice" isn't licorice at all. Salty or 'salmiak' licorice is the real deal. There's also sweet variants, half-winegum-half-licorice stuff and for the real licorice lover? There's laurel licorice that tastes really intense.

If you've never eaten licorice? You totally should. There's a licorice for everyone out there. Try starting with something sweet first. If you're ever in the Netherlands? Try "autodrop" as that's fairly beginner friendly.

as for the actual question, I like competitive pokemon, though I don’t play much these days because of my pc spoiling me with 144fps (my 3ds looks like a flipbook now) and game freak insisting on hour-long unskippable tutorials with perpetual handholding. He's not very hard to discover, but I think my favorite director currently is David Lynch. I have had a film buff friend for quite a while who has repeatedly told me to watch his works, but they didn't click for me until the latest season of Twin Peaks. There is something really magical in it (especially Dougie Jones' saga), and it made me get into the rest of his catalogue more seriously.

97 Name: Anonymous : 2019-08-11 18:06
Games without balance, somehow in modern gaming the idea of balance is so dominant that we all forgot the joy of being able to realise how to control the mechanics and start winning in majority of case if we are able to.

Example: Heroes of Might and Magic 3
98 Name: Anonymous : 2019-08-11 21:25
Balance brings mastery to the table. The joy of burning the enemy to the ground while both of you have the same set of tools is much better.
What you are talking about are exploits and bugs.
99 Name: Anonymous : 2019-08-12 16:33
>>98

How is it an exploit if it is part of the design. And lack of balance produces a different balance, the balance of luck and knowledge of unbalanced strategies and attempting to find out which bullshit strategy is better than other bullshit strategy.

That offers much more emotion and passion into gameplay than anything else.

It does not really matter for competetive but in my opinion any competetive community is either burning pile of garbage or a comfy profest (but just for pros in that competetive game).

Although they were great when I first heard then, I've now also got a lot of memories of these albums--there's a bit of sentimental meaning to it for me. Most recently it was Feels and Person Pitch.

What's your favourite memory of playing MMORPG games?
123 Name: Anonymous : 2019-10-26 03:23
That one battle in tank of worlds, where me and my boi were the only ones left alive about 3 (three) minutes into the battle. So we've got to a defensible position and stood ass to ass fighting off the reds. We scored 11 frags, on 2 IS-4's, 2014, were killed by relocated arty.
Also that one battle where I raped the reds for literally over 9k damage on M26, ran out of ammo and we've lost.

Maybe it's not the most pleasant album, but I think "The Caretaker - Everywhere at the end of Time" is one of the most interesting albums I've listened to in quite a long time. It's a bit of an existential crisis though, it's also six hours long if you take it as a whole.

Sorry for giving the obvious answer but that's gotta be Japan. Unfortunately we postponed our trip there and are instead going to NZ which of course will be greaty too but Japan is on top of my list.
As for countries visited: Croatia was the best one so far. The proximity of mountains and the sea and the nature in the back lands (or rather how different it was from the coast side) was awesome. If you like nature and hiking you should go there. Also the Krkra warerfalls are beautiful. There's a unique chemical composition in the water there that fossilizes everything that falls into the water really fast.

Waking alone

bread bread bread!
Bread is the bane of my existence honestly. I've had bad acne my whole life and the only option my dermatologist suggested that I haven't tried yet was reducing carbs to a minimum, but I just can't give up bread hahaha

Baking is such an extemely rewarding little hobby, there's so much to learn and so much to try, and even the worst of your outcomes are still gonna be perfectly edible and miles better than anything you can buy at a store.

I'm thinking of finally committing and reviving my starter or growing a new one, now that I got a big 50kg bag of flour just sitting there. It's been a while since I've made sourdough and god I really miss it

I just recently learned 3 minutes recipe of cupcakes.
And there are various types of dough. The cupcakes are sort of biscuit yeast free, based on soda + spoon of vinegar.

Also recently learned how to make diy yughurts, from activia, actimel. Just 0,5 liter of warm milk + spoon of living bifidobacterium and store in warm place for 4-8 hours.

Honestly I always hated baking before. Was more of a cooking guy and anything with dough just wasn't for me. I also live in Germany and we have the best bread in the world so baking myself just wasn't an improvement over our local bakeries. I'm also not much of a sweet tooth so pies, cakes etc. too wasn't for me.
But then I went to Japan for a few weeks and their bread really sucks so as I got home the first thing I did was bake a bread because all the stores are closed on sundays. Worked out very well so been baking a lot since then.

I adore the look of https://comfybox.floofey.dog/ . It's like one of those overly stylized so-tasteless-its-tasteful-again pages from the olden days, but made with such genuine passion and modern skill. It's a great little forum to lurk on too, pretty similar to Agora road.

Besides that, pretty much every personal page I've seen looks great in one way or another. Places like https://www.bruh.ltd/ or https://kellphy.com/ or https://five.sh/ all have a charm to them, no matter how well they're done on a technical level.

>>181
Yep yep, yougurt is surprisingly easy to grow. I've had great success with dry culture packs too, without even having to invest in expensive yougurt makers or anything of the like. And then there's Kefir which is just entirely unkillable as long as it touches a droplet milk about once a month and tastes really good. Insanely useful in baking too, as a (butter)mlik substitute, giving you way more flavor and leaven than the original ever could.

>>182
Hey happy to hear that. Nicest thing about getting into baking is just how low the entry bar is. You can get everything you need at literally any store, and there's so many entry level recipes that don't delve much into the theory behind baking bread, and don't force you to plan your day around making one, yet still make a great result in the end.
