Have you ever stolen anything?

I have a mildly clandestine activity that I like to do a lot. I love to explore open buildings and abandoned structures. A lot. Old factories, war bunkers, power plants, you name it.
I have three rules for doing this. Never break or take anything, never *break* in, and leave everything exactly as I found it.
I never break into places. I only go in if I can find a way I can slip in without breaking any windows or picking any locks. And I NEVER steal anything. Or, at least that's what I thought.
Well, at my new university, one night I decided to explore a building that I did not have any classes in and therefore had never been inside of. Walking through the old wooden doors I saw a very regal looking stair case. The first floor had two doors, one was open and the other closed. I could hear people talking from within. Looking inside I found a theater, and students on stage practicing for an upcoming play involving deaf characters. I waited for a moment when none of the actors were looking in my direction, then I jumped past the doorway. There more stairs going up, but now in front of me was a door both unmarked, and unlocked. Those are my favorite kinds of doors.

Upon opening it I found myself in an upstairs balconey of a large open room that could only be discribed as "americas attic". Any household item that could be found in a normal American home from the 1930s to 1980s was in there. Funiture, washing machines, paintings, mirrors, bikes, clothes, glassware, pots, pans, sinks, fine china, childrens toys, record players. clothes, everything. I had found myself in the prop room of the theatre. I took the catwalk to the other side of the room. Down below seemed to be the floor of a basketball court. Which I guess this is what it was converted from. One of the other side I started browsing through a stack of paintings. It was all really good. I would not mind having some of these in my room. On another shelf amoung some powertools and fake telephones I found a dusty guitar. I picked it up and played a G. Somehow still in tune! While walking around looking at oddities I played the guitar.

When I put back the guitar I noticed something near the back of the shelf. It was mixed blue and white, sitting on it's base pointing straight up in the air. A dildo.

What the fuck was a dildo doing here? I know nothing the theatre could put on would be allowed to have anything more than verbal sexual innuendos in them. If this thing was shown out on stage at any point the audience and the school officials would have a cow.

I started thinking. So...this should not be here, right? This will never be on stage, right? It looks like it's been here for years....

So, I took it.

And that's the story of the first time on any of my exploring adventures did I ever steal anything.

It's probably their favourite prop, actors love shock value.
