Collecting hobbies/baubles

I just ordered a sword, my first one, and I even got to customize it and make it look very nice! I really like weapons, for some reason, and swords are beautiful things.
What sort of stuff do you guys like to collect, or just get as trinkets and curiosities, if anything? Maybe stamps, in a place like this?

I have a friend who collects swords. He has the buster sword from FF7.

Me, scarves. I love winter and getting to wear a scarf.

How much did that cost?

About a 150$! So its a real sword, but on the lower end of the spectrum for one, higher up than the ones you can get that qualify as real for 80-100, but less than the ones in the 200s or 300 and up price range.

Is is basically for decoration, or could you like, actually use it, if you wanted?

I swordfight with a friend sometimes and when I go hiking I bring one to hack away at underbrush.

Im of the mind that if its not functional its not worth looking at. It really is very sharp, and the edge is half decently resilient as I can tell, so yeah!
Wait, you swordfight with your friends with swords sharp enough to hack through the brush on the way back? Damn. Id probably kill someone considering how well I can handle this thing.

Haha, yeah we use real ones. But not the coolest ones. Swords that are old or replicas from video games. Those he keeps in perfect condition. Any other swords he brings to my place so we can fight with them.
They are sharp, but we're good enough to stop our swings and stabs about an inch before we would have landed a hit. Whoever lands a killing "blow" wins.
The swords are almost always ruined or broken by the time we are done with them.

Is yours full tang or is it rat taill?

Full tang! I wouldnt trust swinging it around if it were not. Sounds fun, also.

I collect the hidamari sketch manga. I wanted to collect aria but it is too hard to get all the volumes. I would really love YKK as well but I should get a job first.

I collect a variety of stuff that I like in general, such as mangas and figures of the shows that I really enjoyed, or just handwritten cards that I've received in my life. But the only 'real' collection that I have would be my yugioh cards, for which I recently started gaining an enormous passion for once again after years.
It's really quite nice to put your all into something you love and seeing it build up to something.

I collect anime and manga, particularly Azuma's work (Azumanga, Yotsuba) and Higurashi. I wouldn't really call it a hobby though.

I collected items that are smaller than my fingers in jars. My only demand is that they look interesting enough for the jar. When I have a lot of them, I plan to use them for poker games.

not having the cash to get your favorite mangas

I know this feel, bro. Hopefully next semester I can get to be an English tutor.
