Question about mail...

I've written a small letter to a friend in Japan. I'm in the USA. How do I know how many stamps are needed to put on the envelope to get it all the way to Japan?

I think you have to check with a real Post Office, because I have no idea.

For the record, it was three.

On the subject of mail, does anyone here use traditional post to communicate? I've only ever used it for deliveries.

Yes, but very infrequently.
To actually communicate I use encrypted XMPP audio calls. But a handwritten letter is a great thing to get from a friend who is far away. And a great thing to send them. Sending a letter to a friend made with your handwriting that your hands actually touched might make them feel a little less homesick.

Very rarely, but I got a card recently for the first time in as long as I can remember not just for Christmas or a birthday.
