There was plenty of overlap between /vip/ and /prog/ back in the day.

I'm not complaining, it was just something I noticed.

That manga has absolutely nothing to do with GNU, Linux, Stallman, or anything like that.

Ubunchu is more tech-related, although Ubuntu is a horrible distro which doesn't respect your freedom.

I use Ubuntu as a base for other systems. I download the 31MB minimal ISO and build it up from there. And I use Elementary OS on my laptop, which was based on Ubuntu.

Ubuntu is fragmenting Display Servers, doesn't contribute to Upstream and generally is a huge mess one should avoid at all cost.

Not only that, but remember the issues with selling data to Amazon?

I haven't used Ubuntu in ages, but I heard that there was a version (maybe it's still like this?) that would give you advertisements even when you were doing local searches on your hard drive!

Just use Debian or something.

Yeah, I don't like it for these reasons. Crunchbang and eOS forever.

Last time I had ubuntu installed, you could turn that "feature" off.

Now you gotta issue a command to just remove the stuff completely.
