Postcard Project

The Post Office is older than a year for some time now and I thought it would be nice to exchange some real mail for a change. Send me your address at postcards@afternoon.heliohost.org or just post it in this thread if you are comfortable with that. Look forward to a bright yellow envelope!

Sent mine via e-mail.
Looking forward to this!
3 Name: Anonymous : 2014-08-13 00:31
Sent mine as well. Can't wait :)

My mailing adress is going to change soon. I'll post after I know what my new one is going to be.

I had not realized it was a year already.

Maybe we should go all out and do legitimate pen pal type letters. If you gather enough people maybe we can rotate every month or something so that we keep sending different people letters.

I definitely agree with >>5

It would be really fun to hand-write letters and draw little doodles to fellow Post Office anons :)

Something went wrong with the e-mail forwarder and both of your e-mails got lost in the process. I set up an individual mail account as well to make sure this doesn't happen again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but could you try sending me your addresses one more time?

My, it has been a while since I received one. Address mailed. If there is a return address, would you mind getting one back?
12 Name: Anonymous : 2014-08-20 02:07
Did ya ship 'em yet?

Addresses are still slowly trickling in and I thought I'd just send them out in one big batch. Most of the letters are already written, though.
15 Name: Anonymous : 2014-08-23 18:41
I just posted the 8 letters. Please tell me when you receive them!
16 Name: Anonymous : 2014-08-28 16:21

17 Name: Anonymous : 2014-08-28 18:21
#1 arrived and it really lightened up my day.
It's beautiful!

"Umm...this unusual little letter came in for you with your name on it." As soon as I heard my mom say that while checking the mail, I instantly knew what it was. I absolutely adored it. Brought much joy to me and I will hang it on my wall :) Thank you so much!

unusual little letter
How tactful. My own mom said, "you got something WEIRD in the mail. What is it?"
"...A letter."
I suppose it is weird to receive letters in this era though...

Thanks Capey.

22 Name: Anonymous : 2014-09-04 08:21
#007 arrived. Thanks Capey, you've really brightened up my day. I'll be sure to send you something as soon as I can.

Try thoroughly checking the interior of the envelope once more
24 Name: Anonymous : 2014-09-08 14:07
I sent you my address on an encrypted ghostbin.
25 Name: Anonymous : 2014-09-10 18:43
How long does american customs take? Jeeze.
26 Name: Anonymous : 2014-09-11 08:54
though I'm quite late to jump into this, I've sent my adres as well
27 Name: Anonymous : 2014-09-14 15:35
Is this still going? I would love to opt in as well, if I could. And do you accept mail in return?
28 Name: Anonymous : 2014-09-21 04:23
The north east American here. Mines yet to come.
29 Name: Anonymous : 2014-09-28 21:00
I'm not sure if this is still going on, but I sent my address just in case!

That sounds like a great idea.
31 Name: Anonymous : 2014-10-13 12:17
This does sound like a lot of fun, I'd love to join but I'm a bit cautious with giving out my adress.
I'm curious though, how much would it cost to send a letter across the atlantic ocean anyway?
32 Name: Anonymous : 2014-10-13 20:19
>>31

Only a few dollars in the US. Not much.
33 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-02 04:57
>>29 here,
I haven't received one yet. I gave my address after the first batch. Was a second batch sent?
34 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-02 19:59
I never got mine, but I have mail from people who live around me. I think the mail around my area is shit.

But then what happened to it? Whatever you made I don't want to go to waste!! What happens to mail thats lost?
35 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-02 22:51
>>34
There's basically three options for lost mail.

1) After being delivered to a wrong address, the people at said address decide to keep your stuff.
2) After spending a good amount of time in the void, it eventually arrives at your house a few months later with no explanation.
3) It's simply returned to the sender if an address is written wrong, or nobody accepts it.

It's been about 3 months, is this project still going on? I've been thinking it might be nice to get some kind of address exchange going on so we can all send each other postcards or letters sometime.
37 Name: Anonymous : 2014-11-16 18:29
I hate my postmaster. This was precious! It should not have been lost.
