Two imageboards I frequent:

The former is the spiritual successor to Krautchan, though it's a mix between high quality posts, funposts and shitposts. The latter is heavily moderated and slower, but on average has higher quality posts.
302 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-19 05:53
The new KC somehow manages to be even worse than the original. It's like all the mostly sane people missed their invitation.
303 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-19 08:18
I get banter vibes from it rather than poopflinging ones.
The former always, and I do mean always, leads to the latter.
304 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-19 18:46
You are absolutely right friend.

So, I searched all of the open internet (not including closed discussions in facebook, whatsapp groups) to find people who seem to really care about nature and relationship with it and fellow human beings.

I couldn't seem to find it. All of the discussions were mostly about superficial things including technology, entertainments, politics which had no significance to our daily life and relationship with each other - either in real life or on the internet. So, it is natural that we all feel terribly disconnected from the vast reality of nature and humanity as a whole.

So, I recently made this site where we could have authentic, mature conversation about all things involved in living, human relationship and conflicts, nature and it's significance in everyday life, farming, plants and trees, permaculture and all things which we all share in this beautiful earth.

I feel humanity is in a crisis wnich needs authentic response, in which all of us come together without ideologies and plans.

Please do have a look. The site takes a serious approach but it does not mean we cannot have fun.

Fucking GREAT!
306 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-22 19:37
Too many anti-fun rules for me.
Look at:
These are CLEARLY imageboard users.
307 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-22 23:01
I found a Mastodon instance with its layout based on Ayashii. It's pretty dead, but I liked its layout.
308 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-23 00:05
I can't get past hte first page. Help?
309 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-23 01:38
Shhh! Hachikuji is sleeping!
310 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-23 03:36
https://naturalpeople.wiki/communicate/ - It may be interesting, but i won't be able too look in for a while.
311 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-23 03:37
312 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-23 06:41
It's an early Japanese textboard that used dark green palette. Bus Stop has a color theme based on that too.
313 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-23 16:33
Ah, cool.
314 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-24 02:15
It was an interesting read on the fringe beginnings on Anonymous culture as we know it. I think the problem is still same where things get too absurd after a point and the site is forced to shut down. That is why I ensure to not hate and misbehave in general over the internet or I am contributing to the absurdity of it all.
315 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-24 14:25
"Misbehaving" and "hate" had nothing to do with the closing of those boards, though. Both Shiba and Amezou shut down their boards because of serious personal threats from actual insane people.
316 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-25 04:56
Bus Stop has a color theme based on that too.
The only thing that shithole has got in common with the style is the background and it isn't even the same green lol
317 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-25 11:12
datafruits on that same chunk of stations is good too
318 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-25 11:48
The green in the background is the same. But everything else is different.
319 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-25 14:22
What everything else? I think the original strangeworld only used that dark green and white colors. Some later successors also had additional brighter green shades for headers and links, I generated the palette from the screenshot of one of those.
320 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-25 18:14
There really were SOME successors that had brighter green headers, but it wasn't the standard. You got the background color (#004040) and the text color (#FFF) right, but the links usually had a light gray color and quotes had a darker gray.
321 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-25 22:42
This is super cool. I used to love to stream radio stations from other countries. Maybe I should get into that again.
322 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-26 09:24

this one is pretty great
323 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-26 16:24
That's really great. Thank you!
324 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-28 00:01
So it's, dead, huh?
325 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-30 21:27
Probably maintenance.
326 Name: Anonymous : 2018-10-12 13:51
I can't reach the site. Is it dead also?
327 Name: Anonymous : 2018-10-15 07:29
328 Name: Anonymous : 2018-10-19 05:35
Yes unfortunately it was deleted. It got barely any attention. I feel now it is better to just be good internet citizen while sharing god things with each other.
329 Name: Anonymous : 2018-11-01 07:18
If I am understanding this correctly, to start a thread I send in a letter?
How do people reply to my letter like in a thread?
This is very cool.

It'll be back, though I've no idea when...
Server died and nothing of value[everything] was lost.
Great encouragement for me to rewrite everything in Guile which I wanted to do from the beginning.
But I've had way too much going on the last few months.

Just discovered this place too, I was so stoked.
332 Name: Anonymous : 2018-11-16 19:24
really cool site
333 Name: Anonymous : 2018-11-17 03:33
So the site https://naturalpeople.wiki/ is back. I felt it is needed and after seeing this site's photoboard, I decided to include a photoboard in the wiki too..

This guy is one of my all time favorites! His name is Dan Hughes and He skates around the country, taking pictures (some of which are from the 70s-80s), and sharing his view of the world! He's a Washington local and is a major legend in the local scene of skateboarding here in the northwest!

does anyone have a link to that site that is only open at tea times? i can't remember if it was posted here or somewhere else, but i can't seem to remember the name
336 Name: Anonymous : 2019-01-19 20:34
sorry for my foolish post, it's in this thread.
337 Name: Anonymous : 2019-01-23 02:27
Flash is going to be deprecated soon, and I remember alot of these flash loop websites back in the day (besides YTMND):

Anyone know any other? There are a quite a few of these, but I lost the links. Thank you in advance.

I'm amazed that this place still exists.
340 Name: Anonymous : 2019-02-16 16:54
No jinx please.
341 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-06 16:06
Been lurking there for months and thinking of joining in, but I haven't decided what character to "post as" yet. The ones I like most don't have enough art available or are already claimed, plus I want something that fits the general feel of the place. Possibly I'm overthinking this, heh.
342 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-06 18:09
The "claimed character" thing is the worst, and gets horribly uncomfy when someone makes the mistake of posting a picture of lain when someone else has already "claimed" her.

I do like the site, and would go there more, but it is only open during times that I either sleep, or is just about finished with work.
343 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-06 20:57
It's been a hot mintute, but I used to hang out on /tea/. I never avatared and never felt like it was necessary. The reason I never really got into it was the live updating. When you can link to posts both older and newer than yours, it can get hard to follow a conversation.
344 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-07 00:53
One thing I don't like about the live chans is that you can't go back and edit what you type. After a few seconds what you type becomes "locked in" which I absolutely hate since my first typings are never coherent and I have to go back and revise.
345 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-07 09:10
It makes me feel rushed, too, like I have to hurry up and say something. Not very comfy.
346 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-07 19:47
the resident lainposter is a bit of an asshole, sorry about that.
the liveboard doesn't update your post based on time, it's based on how many words you've typed, in doushio's case you can edit the last two words that you type - so if I were to type "I like cake", I would only be able to edit "like cake".

gay maybe, but unpleasant no

/tea/ can have some okayish discussion but I haven't really bothered to lurk it in months after just how bizarre it was to see. /magic/ can be okayish I guess but I'd rather give my posts to other boards to stay alive, as /tea/ is generally regarded as a "good" website so it usually doesn't have a shortage of posters trying to fit in.
358 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-07 22:09
I want to enjoy /garden/ but it's really difficult to post and have a conversation when the site updates like 3 times a year.
359 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-09 07:31
This is a nice discussion. An imageboard and a textboard I was considering recommending have already been recommended, so I'm going to only recommend my website:

It's non-interactive. I wanted to have a single form for commenting, but I don't want to configure a typical HTTP server and don't have a Lisp HTTP server set up yet, so all commenting requires emailing me, currently.

I enjoyed seeing Gopher discussed here, as the domain also features a Gopher hole. I also have an RSS feed and a Finger service; I also host the email service myself. I'm glad to have several protocols under this single domain, as opposed to adding third-level domain names, as that's what ports are for. I'm planning on having more protocols available, such as Bittorrent and FTP.

I won't delve into much detail, but I seem to only be comfortable in this manner of forum, with anonymity being the main quality; I'm not anonymous in posting this, but I didn't need to make an account, this discussion has lasted years instead of days, and so many other things combine to make this style of forum the only one I feel comfortable in, presently. Everything else seems so queer and alien. I've considered installing a GNU Social or Pleroma to add to this, but I'm not certain I like the idea; so much of this social media seems vapid and pointless; I like my Finger service more. I don't want to write too long of a post about this, however. Feel free to tell me what you think.

That's all.

Found this site (ykkaria then) on 4chan when it was still fun to visit. The only other board I visit with some regularity now is bbspink. Lo and fucking behold however, here it can only be accessed with a vpn now, thanks to the little German bureaucrats in Brüssel who have this veritable talent for ruining even the most unlikely bits of enjoyment still left.
361 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-10 01:05

Have you tried using a different dns, like cloudflare? Works for us down under

363 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-10 09:09
I always found having to use a VPN and other aids to use Japanese sites a bit ridiculous considering that the user-base of most are probably just looking for some quick entertainment.
364 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-14 19:31
This one is relatively okay: http://tohno-chan.com .
365 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-16 17:01
Speaking of region blocking, it looks like 5ch is now blocked in the US. Anyone heard anything about this or know if it's just temporarily or anything?
366 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-16 23:58
from what I've seen, its mostly full of jaded complaining, but somehow its still good; better than 4chan at least
367 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-17 00:10
I enjoy the anime boards; the NEET stuff is just depressing.
368 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-18 20:26
It’s alright, most of the complaining is contained to /so/ and /ot/ but the hobby boards are pretty okay. The ratio of signal to noise with the speed of the site is good for what it is.
I used to read 5ch, I think it’s (was?) read only for gaijins but those kinda sites always blocked non Japanese visitors for decades now.

I dug too deep
I don’t know how I got here, but this is some serious archaeology. They have web pages going back to the 90s. Go to personal web pages. Lawrence Eng has entire essays about serial experiments lain, there’s an utterly dead forum, and so much to dig through. This is peak weeb. There’s no going further.
374 Name: Anonymous : 2019-08-05 22:00
the domain for this textboard changed: it's https://ralee.org

4taba admin seems cool even if his site's uptime is a little flaky

A wiki and a discussion forum for discussing all things nature, plants and gardening, life. I added a picture board similar to the one of this site!

Also, This is the second time I post about this site since previously I had taken it down and now felt like it really needs to be up. So it is back up again.

Thank you for having me.

Hopefully not if they are truly serious about this.

If he was serious about it, he would've stopped right away. It's like suicide attempts: Few were actual attempts, rather cries for help. Of someone realy wants to end their life, they will succeed.
And I don't believe few of the many Anons I witnessed proclaiming their departure actually ever left either.
It's like: Tomorrow I'll start working out.
Why not today?
385 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-11 05:42
I'm not sure about that, considering that a lot of people see it as a way to kill the pain of their other troubles, it's not an uncommon idea, considering there's even a website and communities dedicated to it: https://nosurf.org/

He has posted this on a couple smaller boards as well, which is honestly worrying considering the same handful of people use them and losing one person could mean a lot for smaller sites like textboards.
386 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-12 17:21

yet another dead image board with anime all over it
Meh. Not that dead boards can't be interesting but this one is just one of the many that are advertised here by quasi spammers on a regular basis.
392 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-21 08:18
It came back at possibly one of the worst times too, with all the fallout from the stupid “alt-chan federation” discord leaks, there’s already people screaming “rulecuck”.
Teens are the worst.
393 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-21 11:02
Can you tell me a bit more about the "alt-chan federation"?

396 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-22 00:23
Can you tell me a bit more about the "alt-chan federation"?
Spacechan and a couple other websites started a webring because some 8chan refugees did aswell, there was a discord leak after the /cow/ admin played along that showed they wanted to "destroy" other imageboards and gain a bigger userbase. A lot of their shit is explained here: https://kissu.moe/qa/res/4165#9474 and is pretty much a non-issue now due to either moderation or because everyone knows about their discord faggotry and wants nothing to do with any of those sites.
397 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-22 00:28
This isn't part of their "ring", but is a good example of what them trying to sow dissent looks like. I really hate how these cesspits try to treat smaller boards as farms for users.
398 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-22 03:49
Ever since 8chan went down it really does seem that imageboard culture is dead now. What's next for us that don't want to be part of the new age that's come and destroyed what was so special about our past culture?
399 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-22 04:16
I post on the /qa/ spinoffs daily. 8gag has bunkers if you’re intent on keeping that alive.
400 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-22 09:13

8chan was not great, but I still think irc and textboards are the master mode of communication
401 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-22 15:41
I never really cared about 8chan personally, but it was a containment for a bunch of shit and taking it down was like taking out a buttplug. Then having all of that "shit" just spew out all over the internet.

I agree, I had kind of avoided them in the last 4 years or so and have found it to be much better in terms of quality and context.
402 Name: Paperplane : 2019-09-22 19:59
That 64chan idiot also spammed his shit on KC the other day too. Despicable.
I think the culture is still alive, just different. And if you insist on its death, then it sure died before 8chan.
I never understood why there aren't more new people coming to smaller boards though. I mean I'm not really one of the ancients and I'm very much part of the "new world" but I still found my way here, I wonder where all the other hipsters and internet adventurers are.
403 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-23 03:29

If I were to guess, i2p, onion, irc, and if you’re the real god of adventurers, telnet.
404 Name: Paperplane : 2019-09-23 12:05
onion and irc are dead, I've been there. Telnet is way too insecure.

I've reached the point where there isn't anywhere left for me to post, aside from occasional half-hearted posting on some slow alt-boards that don't have much going on. And a lot of alt-boards are just as bad as or worse than 4chan (e.g. Tohno-chan is the latter). There's nothing worthwhile outside the chanosphere either. Socially speaking, the internet has run its course.
407 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-26 04:32
I wouldn’t say Tohno-chan is worse than 4chan, I hang out in their IRC and occasionally post there and it’s fine if you like the negative chatter or find it cathartic (or actually have a waifu)
Aside from that, it’s not our fault you can’t have fun with the internet anymore, there’s plenty of things going on even in 2019 that I wouldn’t give up for a lot of things.
I think you’ve grown up, but I think it’s short sighted to say that there’s nothing worthwhile on the internet.
408 Name: Paperplane : 2019-09-26 09:36
Just post everywhere from instagram, to facebook, to discord, to reddit, to 4chan, to Kohlchan, to here and beyond.
Every layer has its cool niches with their own peculiar culture. I don't see why one should limit themselves to a single layer. that's like only ever eating pasta.

Qameleon Technology builds networked, mobile, remote monitoring equipment for industrial applications. Qameleon products are used by companies throughout the world for monitoring and control. If you can't find the system you need, we can build it for you.
They also own this fully black page (http://www.e-try.com/black.htm) for some reason. There is a black font text in it that says: Copyright 1998-2011 Qameleon Technology, Inc.
413 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-29 22:55
Does anyone know of any good irc servers?
414 Name: Paperplane : 2019-09-30 06:19
Eh, that's just unfounded elitism. As I said, every place has its interesting niches. Denying that is just as ignorant as the """normie""" who never goes deeper than Reddit.
Also >>410 has a point.
This place isn't really for full time lurking, once you've been through the entire catalogue so switching between the aforementioned sites is refreshing.

To make my case: There's young people making content today like we did way back on good old 4chan/b/. We made our rage comics and image macros and they're doing their stuff and contrary to popular belief (among elitist image/messagebiard users) not all of this is surface level trash for """normies"". Even on Facebook there's places for wierdos. Yes, ""zoomer"" wierdos but they made their own subcultures and if you're not jaded you can find merit there. As I said, it's pretty ignorant to dismiss an entire platform based on the ancient 4chan "us irrgulars vs the evil, invading normalfags" dichotomy. If you have a knack for the obscure you'll find your entertainment everywhere, even on one of the most used sites of the internet.

Well, or you could try in vain to emulate 2006 4chan by posting anime on /jp/ spinoffs.

There’s more to the internet than 4chan and social media. I imagine most people don’t want to use those sites including 4chan for privacy reasons. Just remember not to take it too seriously and to have fun on it, the internet isn’t serious business and I think that’s why people don’t like social media, it’s hard to separate real life and the internet on it and the privacy concerns compound that.

I think the dig at anime & /jp/ spinoffs was uncalled for as well.

Even on Facebook there's places for wierdos. Yes, ""zoomer"" wierdos but they made their own subcultures and if you're not jaded you can find merit there

This but youngins don't use facebook anymore. Facebook is home to pretty much everyone on the internet that's over the age of 26. There are indeed plenty of odd people there and there's lots of active chat rooms.
417 Name: Paperplane : 2019-09-30 15:17
Privacy concerns
See, people still have an outdated opinion about this. There's no privacy nor seriousness involved if you make a fake account with a throwaway email. It's just like another forum account.
And I don't even buy the privacy concerns. I know very well about the motivations.
Yea the popularity is waning but facebook hasn't been used as a traditional social network by young people for a long time now. I mean look at how facebook was used back then:
People made a thorough personal profile, uploaded lots of pictures of themselves and then posted every hour about what they're doing.
You have one or two meme avatars and a meme name and do nothing but share posts from memepages and shitpost in groups.
Only boomers still use it the original way.

The actual social media bit now happens on Instagram and snapchat where people still blog about their oh so interesting lives. But even there there's some unique cultures that don't use these sites for thier intended purposes and quickly subcultures form.

Not really. Data you don't share online doesn't just appear there. And anything beyond that like cookies and meta data aren't a specific social media problem.

Very comfy, kinda slow...
553 Name: Anonymous : 2020-04-30 03:43
I remember long ago the owner of this site was spamming on all the other alternative chans/textboards. My memory of the board is very vague, but from the looks of it now, seems its just another anime imageboard with thirty regular users, like a lot of the "comfy" chans. Apparently only sol anime made in the last five years and a few popular shows from the mid 90s can be comfy, because that's all I ever see comfychan people post
554 Name: Anonymous : 2020-04-30 04:50
It doesn't even seem to be a very good-quality "anime" imageboard, in that it feels more like yet another /jp/ spinoff with "random" posts rather than any substantive discussion.
555 Name: Paperplane : 2020-04-30 06:07
I checked it out and I have to agree. It looks like a board without identity. A board just for the sake of being yet another board. Nothing wrong with thar, I'm not hating but I wonder why they just don't band together. Many use "comfy" as a euphemism for dead and think that every slight increase in posts per day would suddenly turn a board into the next 4chan. I personally think that most alt-chans could use some more traffic and they're a long way from ever becoming too fast and lose their comfiness. Something like the post office AIMS to be slow and it's part of this place's whole schtick but I don't think that's what each of those places is going for.
556 Name: Anonymous : 2020-04-30 20:43
Part of the issue is that it's a lot easier to make low-effort posts (and attract those kinds of posters) than to cultivate good discussion. You need to provide a seed of topics to discuss which will set the ambiance. Lainchan for instance, focuses on cyberpunk/technology and its discussion is mostly centered around that – even on the "random" board where discussion tends towards academic or anarchist-type topics. I don't think just banding together a bunch of disparate aimless alt-chans would remedy this much.
557 Name: Anonymous : 2020-05-03 13:52

562 Name: Anonymous : 2020-05-07 20:56
I've visited there before and I'm not sure what you mean by LARPing. It doesn't really seem any different from other liveboards like Meguca. It's almost inevitable then when you have a small group and live-posting, it gets treated more like IRC or a chatroom than an imageboard. So you'll usually end up with people posting using identifiable names, and clique-ish behavior.

It comes off as a tryhard comfy vibe
I guess what he meant by LARPing was that it doesn't feel genuine, and I feel the same way about it.

I want to talk about fantasy stuff, world-building and writing, comics etc. The best place I've found is 4's /tg/ but it's a dumpster fire of fetishism and shitposting.
I just want a community of dorks that like talking about fantasy freely and letting their imagination run wild while keeping the porn addicts and creeps out. Textboard, imageboard, subreddit, IRC channel, I don't care if I have to solve an internet riddle to get in. Just tell me it exists and there's somebody in it.

The "My Videos" section itself is worth its weight. I wish there were more pages like this.

Yeah it just feels... weird
Like they're talking in super formal language and stuff, last time I lurked there was a dude talking about a butterfly in his backyard and proceeded to write almost an essay about it.

/tg/ once made a spinoff chan but it wasn't exactly populated, just had dedicated users. While I do enjoy some of the fetish stuff on /tg/ I can see how people would want to talk about something, say goblins or amazons, dragons etc without opening that can of worms. I could try and think of some places to look at and return to see if they were successful. I'd suggest looking through subreddits first because they have largely replaced forums.

Sometimes you can find them by typing in random keywords into your favorite search engine. Maybe even a specific phrase or two.

tgchan still exists, though they changed their name recently to distance themselves from "chan" culture.
It's mostly furry-themed quest threads, so it's rather niche.
