Two imageboards I frequent:

https://kohlchan.net/int
https://ernstchan.xyz/int

The former is the spiritual successor to Krautchan, though it's a mix between high quality posts, funposts and shitposts. The latter is heavily moderated and slower, but on average has higher quality posts.

The new KC somehow manages to be even worse than the original. It's like all the mostly sane people missed their invitation.

I get banter vibes from it rather than poopflinging ones.
The former always, and I do mean always, leads to the latter.

You are absolutely right friend.

So, I searched all of the open internet (not including closed discussions in facebook, whatsapp groups) to find people who seem to really care about nature and relationship with it and fellow human beings.

I couldn't seem to find it. All of the discussions were mostly about superficial things including technology, entertainments, politics which had no significance to our daily life and relationship with each other - either in real life or on the internet. So, it is natural that we all feel terribly disconnected from the vast reality of nature and humanity as a whole.

So, I recently made this site where we could have authentic, mature conversation about all things involved in living, human relationship and conflicts, nature and it's significance in everyday life, farming, plants and trees, permaculture and all things which we all share in this beautiful earth.

I feel humanity is in a crisis wnich needs authentic response, in which all of us come together without ideologies and plans.

https://naturalpeople.wiki/communicate/

Please do have a look. The site takes a serious approach but it does not mean we cannot have fun.

It's an early Japanese textboard that used dark green palette. Bus Stop has a color theme based on that too.

It was an interesting read on the fringe beginnings on Anonymous culture as we know it. I think the problem is still same where things get too absurd after a point and the site is forced to shut down. That is why I ensure to not hate and misbehave in general over the internet or I am contributing to the absurdity of it all.

"Misbehaving" and "hate" had nothing to do with the closing of those boards, though. Both Shiba and Amezou shut down their boards because of serious personal threats from actual insane people.

What everything else? I think the original strangeworld only used that dark green and white colors. Some later successors also had additional brighter green shades for headers and links, I generated the palette from the screenshot of one of those.
320 Name: Anonymous : 2018-09-25 18:14
>>319
There really were SOME successors that had brighter green headers, but it wasn't the standard. You got the background color (#004040) and the text color (#FFF) right, but the links usually had a light gray color and quotes had a darker gray.

Been lurking there for months and thinking of joining in, but I haven't decided what character to "post as" yet. The ones I like most don't have enough art available or are already claimed, plus I want something that fits the general feel of the place. Possibly I'm overthinking this, heh.
342 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-06 18:09

The "claimed character" thing is the worst, and gets horribly uncomfy when someone makes the mistake of posting a picture of lain when someone else has already "claimed" her.

I do like the site, and would go there more, but it is only open during times that I either sleep, or is just about finished with work.

It's been a hot mintute, but I used to hang out on /tea/. I never avatared and never felt like it was necessary. The reason I never really got into it was the live updating. When you can link to posts both older and newer than yours, it can get hard to follow a conversation.
344 Name: Anonymous : 2019-03-07 00:53
>>343
One thing I don't like about the live chans is that you can't go back and edit what you type. After a few seconds what you type becomes "locked in" which I absolutely hate since my first typings are never coherent and I have to go back and revise.

the liveboard doesn't update your post based on time, it's based on how many words you've typed, in doushio's case you can edit the last two words that you type - so if I were to type "I like cake", I would only be able to edit "like cake".

/tea/ can have some okayish discussion but I haven't really bothered to lurk it in months after just how bizarre it was to see. /magic/ can be okayish I guess but I'd rather give my posts to other boards to stay alive, as /tea/ is generally regarded as a "good" website so it usually doesn't have a shortage of posters trying to fit in.

I want to enjoy /garden/ but it's really difficult to post and have a conversation when the site updates like 3 times a year.
359 Name: Anonymous : 2019-07-09 07:31
This is a nice discussion. An imageboard and a textboard I was considering recommending have already been recommended, so I'm going to only recommend my website:

http://verisimilitudes.net/

It's non-interactive. I wanted to have a single form for commenting, but I don't want to configure a typical HTTP server and don't have a Lisp HTTP server set up yet, so all commenting requires emailing me, currently.

I enjoyed seeing Gopher discussed here, as the domain also features a Gopher hole. I also have an RSS feed and a Finger service; I also host the email service myself. I'm glad to have several protocols under this single domain, as opposed to adding third-level domain names, as that's what ports are for. I'm planning on having more protocols available, such as Bittorrent and FTP.

I won't delve into much detail, but I seem to only be comfortable in this manner of forum, with anonymity being the main quality; I'm not anonymous in posting this, but I didn't need to make an account, this discussion has lasted years instead of days, and so many other things combine to make this style of forum the only one I feel comfortable in, presently. Everything else seems so queer and alien. I've considered installing a GNU Social or Pleroma to add to this, but I'm not certain I like the idea; so much of this social media seems vapid and pointless; I like my Finger service more. I don't want to write too long of a post about this, however. Feel free to tell me what you think.

That's all.

Spacechan and a couple other websites started a webring because some 8chan refugees did aswell, there was a discord leak after the /cow/ admin played along that showed they wanted to "destroy" other imageboards and gain a bigger userbase. A lot of their shit is explained here: https://kissu.moe/qa/res/4165#9474 and is pretty much a non-issue now due to either moderation or because everyone knows about their discord faggotry and wants nothing to do with any of those sites.

This isn't part of their "ring", but is a good example of what them trying to sow dissent looks like. I really hate how these cesspits try to treat smaller boards as farms for users.

And a lot of alt-boards are just as bad as or worse than 4chan (e.g. Tohno-chan is the latter). There's nothing worthwhile outside the chanosphere either. Socially speaking, the internet has run its course.

I wouldn’t say Tohno-chan is worse than 4chan, I hang out in their IRC and occasionally post there and it’s fine if you like the negative chatter or find it cathartic (or actually have a waifu)
Aside from that, it’s not our fault you can’t have fun with the internet anymore, there’s plenty of things going on even in 2019 that I wouldn’t give up for a lot of things.
I think you’ve grown up, but I think it’s short sighted to say that there’s nothing worthwhile on the internet.

Just post everywhere from instagram, to facebook, to discord, to reddit, to 4chan, to Kohlchan, to here and beyond.
Every layer has its cool niches with their own peculiar culture. I don't see why one should limit themselves to a single layer. that's like only ever eating pasta.

Qameleon Technology builds networked, mobile, remote monitoring equipment for industrial applications. Qameleon products are used by companies throughout the world for monitoring and control. If you can't find the system you need, we can build it for you.

Eh, that's just unfounded elitism. As I said, every place has its interesting niches. Denying that is just as ignorant as the """normie""" who never goes deeper than Reddit.
Also >>410 has a point.
This place isn't really for full time lurking, once you've been through the entire catalogue so switching between the aforementioned sites is refreshing.

To make my case: There's young people making content today like we did way back on good old 4chan/b/. We made our rage comics and image macros and they're doing their stuff and contrary to popular belief (among elitist image/messagebiard users) not all of this is surface level trash for """normies"". Even on Facebook there's places for wierdos. Yes, ""zoomer"" wierdos but they made their own subcultures and if you're not jaded you can find merit there. As I said, it's pretty ignorant to dismiss an entire platform based on the ancient 4chan "us irrgulars vs the evil, invading normalfags" dichotomy. If you have a knack for the obscure you'll find your entertainment everywhere, even on one of the most used sites of the internet.

Well, or you could try in vain to emulate 2006 4chan by posting anime on /jp/ spinoffs.
415 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-30 14:15

There’s more to the internet than 4chan and social media. I imagine most people don’t want to use those sites including 4chan for privacy reasons. Just remember not to take it too seriously and to have fun on it, the internet isn’t serious business and I think that’s why people don’t like social media, it’s hard to separate real life and the internet on it and the privacy concerns compound that.

I think the dig at anime & /jp/ spinoffs was uncalled for as well.

This but youngins don't use facebook anymore. Facebook is home to pretty much everyone on the internet that's over the age of 26. There are indeed plenty of odd people there and there's lots of active chat rooms.

Privacy concerns
See, people still have an outdated opinion about this. There's no privacy nor seriousness involved if you make a fake account with a throwaway email. It's just like another forum account.
And I don't even buy the privacy concerns. I know very well about the motivations.
>>416
Yea the popularity is waning but facebook hasn't been used as a traditional social network by young people for a long time now. I mean look at how facebook was used back then:
People made a thorough personal profile, uploaded lots of pictures of themselves and then posted every hour about what they're doing.
Today:
You have one or two meme avatars and a meme name and do nothing but share posts from memepages and shitpost in groups.
Only boomers still use it the original way.

The actual social media bit now happens on Instagram and snapchat where people still blog about their oh so interesting lives. But even there there's some unique cultures that don't use these sites for thier intended purposes and quickly subcultures form.

Unrelated sort of, but cs source is one of the best online games ever. It's crazy how I joined a zombie server I used to play ten years ago, and the same people I talked to then, still play there every day

4ch/a/n archives is stopping working and are deleting their content due to owerwhelming amount of data generated there. Few are left. Isn't it sad? 8chan is dead, librechan is dead, archives are struggling... How do we preserve memory?

Can you be more specific? Which archives have gone down?

Not that anon, but I just checked and Desuarchive seems to be the only definitive /a/ archive left. It goes back to around February of 2008. Fireden deleted their /a/, /v/, and /vg/ archives sometime in 2019. Archived.Moe still archives /a/, but it's pointless as there's no search function.

First I thought someone just replaced another word in that huge text but it seems like it's actually hand written. This is fucked up. That man needs help.

I think that is what is lacking from the internet of today. Its so uncomfy and splattered with ads.

It lacks the human touch.

I remember long ago the owner of this site was spamming on all the other alternative chans/textboards. My memory of the board is very vague, but from the looks of it now, seems its just another anime imageboard with thirty regular users, like a lot of the "comfy" chans. Apparently only sol anime made in the last five years and a few popular shows from the mid 90s can be comfy, because that's all I ever see comfychan people post
554 Name: Anonymous : 2020-04-30 04:50

It doesn't even seem to be a very good-quality "anime" imageboard, in that it feels more like yet another /jp/ spinoff with "random" posts rather than any substantive discussion.

I checked it out and I have to agree. It looks like a board without identity. A board just for the sake of being yet another board. Nothing wrong with thar, I'm not hating but I wonder why they just don't band together. Many use "comfy" as a euphemism for dead and think that every slight increase in posts per day would suddenly turn a board into the next 4chan. I personally think that most alt-chans could use some more traffic and they're a long way from ever becoming too fast and lose their comfiness. Something like the post office AIMS to be slow and it's part of this place's whole schtick but I don't think that's what each of those places is going for.

Part of the issue is that it's a lot easier to make low-effort posts (and attract those kinds of posters) than to cultivate good discussion. You need to provide a seed of topics to discuss which will set the ambiance. Lainchan for instance, focuses on cyberpunk/technology and its discussion is mostly centered around that – even on the "random" board where discussion tends towards academic or anarchist-type topics. I don't think just banding together a bunch of disparate aimless alt-chans would remedy this much.

I've visited there before and I'm not sure what you mean by LARPing. It doesn't really seem any different from other liveboards like Meguca. It's almost inevitable then when you have a small group and live-posting, it gets treated more like IRC or a chatroom than an imageboard. So you'll usually end up with people posting using identifiable names, and clique-ish behavior.

I guess what he meant by LARPing was that it doesn't feel genuine, and I feel the same way about it.

I want to talk about fantasy stuff, world-building and writing, comics etc. The best place I've found is 4's /tg/ but it's a dumpster fire of fetishism and shitposting.
I just want a community of dorks that like talking about fantasy freely and letting their imagination run wild while keeping the porn addicts and creeps out. Textboard, imageboard, subreddit, IRC channel, I don't care if I have to solve an internet riddle to get in. Just tell me it exists and there's somebody in it.

/tg/ once made a spinoff chan but it wasn't exactly populated, just had dedicated users. While I do enjoy some of the fetish stuff on /tg/ I can see how people would want to talk about something, say goblins or amazons, dragons etc without opening that can of worms. I could try and think of some places to look at and return to see if they were successful. I'd suggest looking through subreddits first because they have largely replaced forums.

Sometimes you can find them by typing in random keywords into your favorite search engine. Maybe even a specific phrase or two.

tgchan still exists, though they changed their name recently to distance themselves from "chan" culture.
It's mostly furry-themed quest threads, so it's rather niche.
