I never really cared about 8chan personally, but it was a containment for a bunch of shit and taking it down was like taking out a buttplug. Then having all of that "shit" just spew out all over the internet.

>>400
I agree, I had kind of avoided them in the last 4 years or so and have found it to be much better in terms of quality and context.
402 Name: Paperplane : 2019-09-22 19:59
That 64chan idiot also spammed his shit on KC the other day too. Despicable.
>>398
I think the culture is still alive, just different. And if you insist on its death, then it sure died before 8chan.
I never understood why there aren't more new people coming to smaller boards though. I mean I'm not really one of the ancients and I'm very much part of the "new world" but I still found my way here, I wonder where all the other hipsters and internet adventurers are.

If I were to guess, i2p, onion, irc, and if you’re the real god of adventurers, telnet.

onion and irc are dead, I've been there. Telnet is way too insecure.

I've reached the point where there isn't anywhere left for me to post, aside from occasional half-hearted posting on some slow alt-boards that don't have much going on. And a lot of alt-boards are just as bad as or worse than 4chan (e.g. Tohno-chan is the latter). There's nothing worthwhile outside the chanosphere either. Socially speaking, the internet has run its course.
407 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-26 04:32
>>406
I wouldn’t say Tohno-chan is worse than 4chan, I hang out in their IRC and occasionally post there and it’s fine if you like the negative chatter or find it cathartic (or actually have a waifu)
Aside from that, it’s not our fault you can’t have fun with the internet anymore, there’s plenty of things going on even in 2019 that I wouldn’t give up for a lot of things.
I think you’ve grown up, but I think it’s short sighted to say that there’s nothing worthwhile on the internet.

Just post everywhere from instagram, to facebook, to discord, to reddit, to 4chan, to Kohlchan, to here and beyond.
Every layer has its cool niches with their own peculiar culture. I don't see why one should limit themselves to a single layer. that's like only ever eating pasta.

Well, there's this really comfy forum I regular. The people there are really nice. You should go there as well.

It's afternoon.dynu.com

Qameleon Technology builds networked, mobile, remote monitoring equipment for industrial applications. Qameleon products are used by companies throughout the world for monitoring and control. If you can't find the system you need, we can build it for you.
They also own this fully black page (http://www.e-try.com/black.htm) for some reason. There is a black font text in it that says: Copyright 1998-2011 Qameleon Technology, Inc.

Eh, that's just unfounded elitism. As I said, every place has its interesting niches. Denying that is just as ignorant as the """normie""" who never goes deeper than Reddit.
Also >>410 has a point.
This place isn't really for full time lurking, once you've been through the entire catalogue so switching between the aforementioned sites is refreshing.

To make my case: There's young people making content today like we did way back on good old 4chan/b/. We made our rage comics and image macros and they're doing their stuff and contrary to popular belief (among elitist image/messagebiard users) not all of this is surface level trash for """normies"". Even on Facebook there's places for wierdos. Yes, ""zoomer"" wierdos but they made their own subcultures and if you're not jaded you can find merit there. As I said, it's pretty ignorant to dismiss an entire platform based on the ancient 4chan "us irrgulars vs the evil, invading normalfags" dichotomy. If you have a knack for the obscure you'll find your entertainment everywhere, even on one of the most used sites of the internet.

Well, or you could try in vain to emulate 2006 4chan by posting anime on /jp/ spinoffs.
415 Name: Anonymous : 2019-09-30 14:15
>>414
There’s more to the internet than 4chan and social media. I imagine most people don’t want to use those sites including 4chan for privacy reasons. Just remember not to take it too seriously and to have fun on it, the internet isn’t serious business and I think that’s why people don’t like social media, it’s hard to separate real life and the internet on it and the privacy concerns compound that.

I think the dig at anime & /jp/ spinoffs was uncalled for as well.

This but youngins don't use facebook anymore. Facebook is home to pretty much everyone on the internet that's over the age of 26. There are indeed plenty of odd people there and there's lots of active chat rooms.

Privacy concerns
See, people still have an outdated opinion about this. There's no privacy nor seriousness involved if you make a fake account with a throwaway email. It's just like another forum account.
And I don't even buy the privacy concerns. I know very well about the motivations.
>>416
Yea the popularity is waning but facebook hasn't been used as a traditional social network by young people for a long time now. I mean look at how facebook was used back then:
People made a thorough personal profile, uploaded lots of pictures of themselves and then posted every hour about what they're doing.
Today:
You have one or two meme avatars and a meme name and do nothing but share posts from memepages and shitpost in groups.
Only boomers still use it the original way.

The actual social media bit now happens on Instagram and snapchat where people still blog about their oh so interesting lives. But even there there's some unique cultures that don't use these sites for thier intended purposes and quickly subcultures form.

What we have here is a phenomenon that is, for a change, deserved. So much of what children today are offered is junk. Pokemon, Power Rangers, PowderPuff girls, Sailor Moon just to name a few, are filled with violence, sexual innuendo inappropriate for youngsters and cardboard, stereotypical roll models that all seem to be the same character over and over again.

Post actually cool content instead of unabashedly self-promoting your site that lists your genders on the first click.
Take it as a challenge: your site's link will be here for posterity, so do your best right now to make it entertaining. Swap the ME ME ME with substance and you'll get the praise you want in the future (or dismiss all criticism and always be ultra lame compared to Windows 93...)

I remember long ago the owner of this site was spamming on all the other alternative chans/textboards. My memory of the board is very vague, but from the looks of it now, seems its just another anime imageboard with thirty regular users, like a lot of the "comfy" chans. Apparently only sol anime made in the last five years and a few popular shows from the mid 90s can be comfy, because that's all I ever see comfychan people post
554 Name: Anonymous : 2020-04-30 04:50
>>553
It doesn't even seem to be a very good-quality "anime" imageboard, in that it feels more like yet another /jp/ spinoff with "random" posts rather than any substantive discussion.
555 Name: Paperplane : 2020-04-30 06:07
>>553
>>554
I checked it out and I have to agree. It looks like a board without identity. A board just for the sake of being yet another board. Nothing wrong with thar, I'm not hating but I wonder why they just don't band together. Many use "comfy" as a euphemism for dead and think that every slight increase in posts per day would suddenly turn a board into the next 4chan. I personally think that most alt-chans could use some more traffic and they're a long way from ever becoming too fast and lose their comfiness. Something like the post office AIMS to be slow and it's part of this place's whole schtick but I don't think that's what each of those places is going for.
556 Name: Anonymous : 2020-04-30 20:43
>>555
Part of the issue is that it's a lot easier to make low-effort posts (and attract those kinds of posters) than to cultivate good discussion. You need to provide a seed of topics to discuss which will set the ambiance. Lainchan for instance, focuses on cyberpunk/technology and its discussion is mostly centered around that – even on the "random" board where discussion tends towards academic or anarchist-type topics. I don't think just banding together a bunch of disparate aimless alt-chans would remedy this much.

I've visited there before and I'm not sure what you mean by LARPing. It doesn't really seem any different from other liveboards like Meguca. It's almost inevitable then when you have a small group and live-posting, it gets treated more like IRC or a chatroom than an imageboard. So you'll usually end up with people posting using identifiable names, and clique-ish behavior.

I just want a community of dorks that like talking about fantasy freely and letting their imagination run wild while keeping the porn addicts and creeps out. /tg/ once made a spinoff chan but it wasn't exactly populated, just had dedicated users. While I do enjoy some of the fetish stuff on /tg/ I can see how people would want to talk about something, say goblins or amazons, dragons etc without opening that can of worms. I could try and think of some places to look at and return to see if they were successful. I'd suggest looking through subreddits first because they have largely replaced forums.

Well, it received like 5-6 postcards over a course of two years, so it definitely wasn't very "profitable" (even given the low hosting price of today), especially considering the .garden TLD.
I wish they left a parting note instead of disappearing without a word, though. Some closure, if you may.

Scream was great.
The best part about it was its authenticity.

Hosting costs at least some money and comfy isn't a currency.
This. The .garden TLD was also a huge mistake as >>586 pointed out - Those domains cost around $30 a year which is ridiculous.

I've owned sites in the past that have been fun and comfy in theory, but when they get 1 - 2 users once in a blue moon it just isn't worth the cost of keeping them around a lot of the time. I actually wrote a news post about this on Peelopaalu when Postbox Garden first went down. It's kind of funny that the only site I've ever made that a couple of people have wanted to donate a couple of dollars to me for is Peelopaalu, which costs me nothing but time to run.
588 Name: Anonymous : 2020-06-03 21:47

Well, we have their address. Then again, it was... Cambridge Garnening Club, or something like that. It could theoretically be possible... to send them a postcard.
I suppose it won't do if it was a club connected to some university, though. Might be that someone who's ran this project just graduated. That's just me assuming things based on "Cambridge", though.

In any case, it's ridiculously easy to host things on the Internet nowadays for next to no money. There's Neocities, GitHub Pages, free hosting, even EC2 will let you do that for cheap. I've came across several mostly dead IBs recently that were hosted on free services. Postbox Garden could have kept operating (save for the expensive TLD they'd have to change to something cheaper), but maybe the person running it decided to pull the plug regardless. I can kind of guess how it must have felt like to have to look at it occasionally while having nothing to upload.

Ironically, even though it's never been easier and cheaper to run things, not many people do that. I'm partially guilty to that as well, though, but I'll try to change that one thing someday.

Newest entry on the directory is "The History of the Web", which is the 561st link on the directory, you can CTRL+F to find it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I've considered adding a numbering system to the site so people can CTRL+F to find the latest entries, but I don't want to give the impression that there's some sort of ranking system in place. Any suggestions on how I can go about this? Maybe add a "(NEW!)" tag to the latest entries or something and then remove the tag after a week or something? Lemme know if you guys have any ideas.

They currently *are* in chronological order. Oldest added links at the top, newest added links at the bottom.

When I said that the newest entry was "The History of the Web", I meant that it was the first new link *in the update* - Every link that comes after "The History of the Web" is a new addition in this update. Sorry for the confusion due to my poor wording.

This is one of my favourite internet places. Looking into koronbas past led me to discovering Speder2, who does the music for the games here. This is the website of a group that makes small, short games, with nice art and music.
http://kohada.ushimairi.com/

Similar, here's the site of a single person who makes rpgmaker games, most "famously" (still rather obscurely) Neftelia, a very good vaguely-yume nikki fangame.

It's not just imageboards. Western forums aren't doing too hot either, even on non-nerdy ones there are people who are open about either the state of the hobby they're doing declining and being less fun or the forum becoming worse and debating ever logging back on. I wonder if everything is becoming worse or people are just growing old and bitter in general.

Seeing all the dead links on here was a sad sight, but I did find an imageboard that gave me a nice interaction that made me feel good.
"the anger and political rage you are fueling yourself with is going to take years off of your life my man. it isn’t productive.

spend less time online, talk to more people, i promise you things aren’t so bad. and when you do spend time online, try to have fun, otherwise what’s really the point?"

There is nothing to do offline besides going to work and falling asleep. Conversation is mentally draining and a waste of time. The only reason I still bother owning a computer is to do personal research, finish my backlogs, and to discover music. The internet hasn't been "fun" for close to a decade.

It's part of the reason why I've drastically cut back on lurking imageboards (besides the drop-off in post quality). I'm tired of recognizing the same fifty or so anonymous posters by the way they type or by what pictures they usually attach to their posts. It's the most surreal thing and it's not just on imageboards. The only website I use that still gives off the atmosphere of being significantly populated is Twitter. It feels as if the internet is slowly losing its voice over time.

This might be slightly off-topic, but does anyone remember this one short-lived imageboard experiment from, I wanna say late 2000s, where every post was automatically machine-translated? The goal was internet cultural exchange, I think it might have been called 10chan, and it was a pretty funny place for the short time it was alive. I think a japanese guy made it and the few japanese denizens that were around made some genius posts in there, like one about generating power from hikki masturbation that I remember to this day.

I'd be very happy I could find even a partial archive of it, or just some other people who remember. I have to make sure it wasn't just a dream I had.

The filesharing and text discussion "faces" of usenet are now two distinct worlds as no one uses traditional usenet clients for the binary groups anymore. A number of text groups are active (not when compared to the 90s usenet, but compared to english textboards for example, they can be considered so). These are exclusively tech themed groups (c, unix, gopher and so on), all the others are completely dead. The problem of usenet today, among others, is the absurdly large topical structure with thousands now empty groups made at the time when there were actually people on it.

Reminds me of all those niche text/imageboards out there. Everyone makes a new one even though the ones that are already there barely get any traffic to begin with and most of the new ones aren't even unique enough to justify their existence.

FODCOM's "style" is basically a roided up, meathead alternative to the pinkpill anime vhs 90s pink n purple grid orange sun pc98 sanrio tumblr blog art/editing style. Russian web 1.0 style is pretty underrepresented. btw I put style in quotations, as I remember being in a chat with him in '17, and one day he was saying he didn't even know what his "style" was when he started getting compliments in his comment sections, calling him an artistic visionary. Back when Sam Hyde spawned a bunch of copycats from /tv/ around 2013-2017, FODCOM came from Doomspeak Dieschau and basically formed his own brand after collaborating with a bunch of content creators, including Gibby from iCarly. I don't keep up with him too much these days since I avoid twitter like the plague, but I think the early 2000s web thing lost its charm. Early 2000s web design is a million times better than 2020 bloat, but as an artistic style, its nothing but a tacky crutch.

The whole neocities "quirky 90s gifs" aesthetic is a miss for me, at best it's inoffensive. I browse and enjoy that kind of space anyway because it happens to have a comparatively higher concentration of people posting earnestly and thoughtfully, compared to mass social media. It also seems to have a a larger breadth and variety of audience than your usual image and textboards, and that's fun to read.

Anyway, on topic, here's an archive of readings of internet posts, the common thread being that they contain the phrase "no one will ever read this"

I've had fair luck with relying on webrings and word-of-mouth agregators (like this thread) to find good sites. When browsing neocities or pubnixes on my own, there's a lot of low effort pages, but there are good ones out there. Not having algortithms automatically serve you attention-capturing content is just the price of participating in slower/retro internet circles.

Idk man, I'd prefer to have communities balkanized, even if there's a general similarity to people's interests between sites. Small board culture has the flexability to evolve in ways that large monocultures on popular sites cannot.

Sure, but there's something in between of huge sites like 4chan/YouTube/Facebook and these dead altchans everywhere.
You could roll at least a dozen of these altchans together into one site yet they're competing against each other for their two posts per day. I mean just looking at this thread (and the many many deleted threads for advertisement) shows you that there's probably like 5 new altchans per year. All are totally NOT like 4chan :^) but don't have any identity besides trying hard not to be like 4chan but if you care enough to check the sites out you'll see that many are just 4chan in slow motion so you can REALLY observe shit as it hits the toilet bowl.
Then there's the ones that painstakingly try to emulate 2006 but always fail.
Idk, I've been hopping alt chans for over a decade now and the only ones that really flourish(ed) are/were national chans like sosach, kc, dejimachan, ernst, britfa.gs, yli, brchan etc. and the very early 4chan alternatives like 7chan or 420chan. All those managed to emancipate from their parent and develop their own culture while building a reasonable size of a userbase. Far from 4chan's highspeed but also well over deadaltchan#9001.

Lainchan did something worse, they mixed tumbler and tech otakuism.
In imageboard terminology they mixed /tech/, /g/, /a/ and whatever hidden trash cabal board parading as tumbler that era was.
Was 4chan a good idea? If you don't think so lainchan wasn't either and it was successful since it wasn't a remake but admixture, the few altchan spinoffs that emulate lainchan weren't even vary successful, replace 4chan with lainchain in this post >>759 .
"Inter"national imageboards have it easy, there is the baseline culture in a nationality and alot you can do with an internet admixture alone, not to mention how well that culture plays with heritage and it just works for some alot of people, others the majority of people on altchans unrelated to here not so much.

I think you are mostly right, but the issue is not altchans as much as the fact that people always refer to the big centralized site. I have no idea how this can be fixed, but while in the past you had like 1000 small sites that were genuinely insular with their own culture, right now it's almost impossible to have that. Almost every single user will come to your tiny alt imageboard with a baggage of news and memes from the big centralized sites, and other people will latch onto those because they're familiar, and what you end up with is just a slower echo of the Reddit/Twitter/4chan amalgam everyone participates to. Also everyone is an attention seeker nowadays so the worst people will inevitably seize all the attention on the small website and consume it from the inside.

I know for sure that this is the problem, but I also have no idea how to actually fix it, it's something much bigger even than people's individual decision making: I've stayed isolated from social media since forever but I'm still up to date with the memes and general internet zeitgeist simply because it's impossible not to absorb it by just listening in to any frequency. I could join a random Discord and pick up the conversation as if I've always been there. How do you even create a community that is truly insular and independent? Even offline isn't safe from interconnectedness.
And if you explicitly distance yourself from this situation you'll be ripped apart because it's like telling people to stop eating. Or you'll attract the attention of people who like the idea but will never quit feeding into their FOMO.

There have been mornings where I cycle through all of the big forums I frequent, and all of them are focused on the same big drama, that I just don't want to think about. Then I come to some tiny imageboard, and everyone's still arguing about the same things they always are, as if nothing in the world has changed. And nothing has changed, whatever the big drama is is totally irrelevant, no one will care in six days, or six months, or six years.

Maybe someone could make a board with a rule that says you can only post if you haven't visited any larger forum in X days. I guess you would make people install spyware on their PCs and phones that would detect if they visited other forums. If they did, they would get a cooldown of however many days before they would be allowed to post again.

I doubt anyone would want spyware on their computer, and even if they did, they would find ways to circumvent it. But its fun to think about what such a board would be like. I guess most people visit forums because they're bored, and need something to do. So you could set up self-improvement tasks, like read so many pages of a book, or do so many push-ups, or whatever else, and encourage people to do them when they get bored, and then post the results.

I especially like the idea of a forum that cares about individual people, rather than just treating everyone as transient, alienated, fungible ip addresses. Maybe when someone signed up, they would be assigned a mentor, who would check up on them, to see how they're doing. Idk.

Then I come to some tiny imageboard, and everyone's still arguing about the same things they always are, as if nothing in the world has changed.
Yes but there's a massive lack of creativity in these environments. It's still better than the big drama of the moment, but at its core is just another flavor of indolent chitchat. What we're doing right now is chitchat and it will surely go nowhere because nobody wants to follow through on anything.
I think the internet of some time ago was more intent on creating things, it was oriented toward "projects", hey let's make a zine, hey let's do this thing, let's both make things, let's show each other what we made. There was more enthusiasm even for mediocre things. Now you could take serious time to do something with genuine effort and love and you'd be lucky if anybody notices. But if you talk about the drama or show them something titillating you get instant engagement. It feels sometimes like people have their brains shut off and only react to these low level stimuli. Maybe this is a response to oversaturation but how can you expect people to get away from it? I am still overwhelmed and as far as the internet goes I'm like a hermit.
Maybe someone could make a board with a rule that says you can only post if you haven't visited any larger forum in X days.
The problem with this is that people will just lie or as you said find ways to circumvent any hardcoded fix. The biggest filter that IRL gives you is that lies don't work that well in the real world. If someone says he's rich, but he's actually poor, he can fake being rich for a little bit but eventually it won't work. If someone says he's against internet overconsumption but spends day and night hunched over a phone you can tell he's bullshitting. But online you can keep lies going virtually indefinitely and people seem to be very happy with this. We're going through the general rejection of authenticity as a virtue which is I think unprecedented in human culture.
I especially like the idea of a forum that cares about individual people, rather than just treating everyone as transient, alienated, fungible ip addresses. Maybe when someone signed up, they would be assigned a mentor, who would check up on them, to see how they're doing. Idk.

This makes everyone seam like bots, atleast I can't be ashamed being called one myself for this. I didn't come here for repetitive chitchat even, the repeats are so horrendous you can have a "general" show up on one forum and day later the same exact "general" and either everyone stays on the old one, splits or moves to the new one saying the same exact things with no extensions on the topic or new takes. This isn't near the worse when there's unironic bots that repost the same exact messages and attachments years later, artificially generating content. It gets predatory even but let's stop the meta, this thread isn't for it.

This is actually the second period of quiescence I've seen here. Quite a few years ago it was very lively, and there were charming things like the paper and the wiki thing that was like a small collaboratively written adventure game. Why do you think that?
It's hard for me to imagine your situation since I already sunk around 2k hours into the series and my first steps with it back in 2012/13 are fuzzy in my memory but I'll do my best:

1. You can brute force basically everything. "Gittung gud"- as the meme goes - sure helps but since it's still an RPG you can always just grind XP and upgrade your gear to make things easier.
2. Your first blind playthrough will probably be crushing since KNOWLEDGE is a huge factor. Knowing enemy patterns, traps and even just routes throughout the world makes the biggest difference imo. My first playthrough, blind, took me about 70 hours (still have that char save on my ps3) and my second already reached the final boss in 20.
4. Looking up a guide about character building is no shame. The game has some worthless stats that you can invest XP in and some weapons are just plain bad and have objectively better variants which is impossible to know as a noob.
5. Loadout matters a lot. Going sword and shield and blocking most attacks is way easier than solely relying on your dodge. The latter is more fun and you won't need a shield down the line but I consider shields to be the training wheels of the series, because you can observe new encounters in relative safety with your shield up.
Any kind of spell, be it pyromancy or classic sorcery trivialises a lot of the enemies, since it's kinda balanced around melee and just hanging back and spamming spell projectiles is easy to do.
So it basically ties the difficulty to the loadout you're choosing which can suck for a new player if he unknowlingly picks a hard loadout but imo gives the game a lot of replayability since different builds play differntly ofc.

If you have regular hand eye coordination, aren't afraid to spend a few minutes learning about how to build your character and have a high tolerance for frustration it is defenitely beatably by everyone.
But you have to judge if you would even enjoy that.

Good suggestion! I have actually been running a test on another textboard where I have made the deletion password public and just allow the community to delete stuff that doesn't fit the vibe. So far it has actually gone really well, with no incidents of mass deletion or upload wars. I guess it helps that it's really only spam that needs to be removed. So I'll be giving you guys the deletion password for the imageboard here as well!

Use the password takeiteasy to delete spam/advertisements and things that are just generally unfit for having on the site.

If you want to report stuff on the textboard, you can drop me an email at saovq@gmail.com and I'll have a look. I hope this helps!

If you have old youtube playlists, you might find some of the videos there to be deleted or listed as private. Unfortunately, it isn't exactly obvious through normal means to see what the missing videos' titles were to begin with, so especially in old or long playlists it's hard to realise what went missing.
This site might help you find what was lost.

It's a very surreal community. There are a few gems (old-school LPs, retro tech, actual vaporwave), but most of it's lost to waves of new users joining and old users leaving. There's no cohesive theme or structure, and that means the community you liked one week will morph into something different come the next one.

THIS is the sort of high-quality fandom site that I feel like a lot of Neocities/Geocities-remakes fail to emulate. In my opinion, rather than trying to make something beautiful within limitations and constraints, most nostalgia chasers just copy the lowest common denominators of the past. In many ways, the contemporary internet is so, so much better than the internet of my youth; yet, at the same time, that potential is being squandered or has to be painstakingly discovered.

Short for vidya4chan. It is a virtual gathering of social outcasts, nerds, and power tripping mods. Users can post their horrible videos for other people to watch in a vain attempt for cyber social approval. People can chat with each other and use emotes which was a horrible idea since half the time actual normal

Can't guarantee how well it works, but I made a little project this past while:

What do the up and down arrows do?
Can I bump something? Who took these photos?
Why is the icon to go fullscreen a +?

I have many questions.

What do the up and down arrows do?
Increase and decrease volume. I could probably change that though.
Can I bump something?
Depends on if you want to, the term here is in reference to adult swim intertitle type things. I wanted something to relax to without the interruptions you'd get from advertising or even just searching for a new playlist or video.
Who took these photos?
Mostly me, but I also mixed in a few given to me by friends and a few others I just liked.
Why is the icon to go fullscreen a +?
That, I dunno, just picked the first single character thing that came to mind.

Fair critiques though, I'll think on some of that to make the ux more obvious.

ah I didn't have my volume up so I didn't hear anything at all so the up/down buttons appeared to do nothing.
good job either way.

It's totally fair. Ideally it should all be so obvious that even if you're muted that would be apparent anyways. I appreciate you checking it out.

I included a few ykk songs in the mix in there as well.

I like the layout of the site a lot. It looks like a traditional forum and inherits the ease of navigation from one, but it's still an anonymous textboard. I wanna see more sites like that.

Here's a small recently founded site. Owner is aiming for comfort and easy-going discussion.

https://hikari3.ch/

I think small, new sites hold a particularly enticing sort of potential, since they're in the phase where just a handful of people can establish the 'culture'. I always try to post something interesting or funny.

If it wasn't for post office's admin deleting blatant advertising ITT and on the board in general this is probably the 20th or so "small, recently founded site aimed at comfort and easy-going discussion" posted here. Just look at the list of IBs here >>949 and see for yourself, it's more or less all the same slosh.
Sorry to sound so negative but these places usually go nowhere and even if they do, they're virtually indistinguishable from one another and I wouldn't be surprised if they also share a very similar, tiny userbase that valiantly tries to uphold traffic (to their credit!).

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with these boards existing and people using them but is another drop in the ocean really a cool/interesting entry for this thread? I don't think so. I get that you probably want publcitiy/more users for it but "small imageboard with anime images posted on it" really pales in comparison to many other cool entries ITT. Maybe I'm too strict on what counts as "cool" but I usually expect a novel concept, a surprise or something very old. Anything that makes the site stand out, really.

Just my 2 pennies.

It seems to be such a problem that even the first posts advertised in this thread are like you describe.

Actually I believe the creator of this site said he wanted the site to build up and have various 'user-created' boards, similar to https://iro2.net/ which started with an 'entryway' board before spiralling out into a network of boards, which sometimes overlapped when users 'cross-posted' threads, like seen here:

Hi all,
Just found out about this board, very nice and unique styling. Someone else posted this before, but I've been running the retro focused board https://wapchan.org for the past year and a half, and recently did a UI overhaul giving each of boards unique styling to give the site a more distinct feel, as well as adding a doodle section. I hope you all come and visit sometime.

I recognized the art style immediately and was disgusted. Sure enough, one of the owners is Proxima64, the guy who under the name aeromatic did all the fucked up grooming shit with twinks on discord. I don't care if he stopped being a troon and supposedly stopped being fucked up, I want nothing to do with that guy. The mentally ill art style used is a magnet for fucked up people and fucked up behavior, and that's always what happens.

Whoa, Nicholas Fedorov still around? It's sad that he wound up being such a sicko. He was a talented guy. I unironically like that "The Computer" song/video he did.

You are literally so misinformed it's hilarious. The aeromatic reiko harem shit was a phase he had for a few months when he was being manipulated into taking hrt by basically every queermo menhera faggot on /r9k/. As for the stereotype of every retrofag being a tranny/autist, he basically invented that retro computing/anime/internet renaissance style, and the menhera glittercore cunts leeched onto it around 2018/19 when he trooned out, because his art got popular around the same time he started associating with those groups. He highly regrets it now, and siavows all of that shit. He wants to go back to making funny videos and music
