So, my workplace finally got good at blocking imageboards.

My workplace finally got good at blocking imageboards. They blocked 4chan, 8ch.net, 8ch.pl, 16chan.nl, lainchan.org, bunkerchan.org, all of the nntpchan frontends, and even all the imageboards on this list (maybe that's the list they used). https://docs.google.com/document/d/1t10VI-sccy1CfAeMZHwmCS_7agIHFo_B5ipMjzsMtTg

The only imageboard they haven't touched so far is uboachan.org, and I'm afraid to use that now. They even blocked most of the english textboards (which there is little point in anyway, they're all dead except this one).

Anyways, due to my mania with 2ch-style forums, I'll problem spend some time here. I'm hoping they'll be less likely to block this site due to no pictures and no /pol/-esque threads.

Hi.

Nice to meet you but should you really be using image/discussion boards during work?
Not that I don't do the same but seeing that list makes me a little concerned, even blocking some lesser known boards seems pretty serious.

What kind of work do you do?

Wow, seems like they're pretty savvy. I've only seen that list floating around recently. Maybe I'm just being an idiot, but could you get past it with allchans.org to access 8chan and Lainchan? It's funny because I remember this one random foreign page had a frame set-up of 8chan for some unfathomable reason. Maybe you can get by with something like https://en.tanobb.com/? This place is pretty slow.

It's not really work persay, I just call it that.

They're not really that savy. These are the same people that blocked cmd.exe but not powershell.

Also, thanks for the suggestion, but I already use tanobb, and it's already blocked. >_<

Can you get to 4x13.net ? I can update the spam filter and admin panel and actually moderate it if you think you'll use it :P

If they really used that list, there are a couple of imageboards posted here that are not on the list.

Go home, Tokiko. I've never seen anyone so eager to shill their website as you.

Hehe, nope, that's also blocked. Also, see >>7

Thanks, but I already tried all those. The only English one that sort of works is lynxhub, but none of the images make it through, so that's pretty much useless. I could try the /int/ board on non-english boards I guess.

You mean just the clearnet/spynet ones, I assume, yes?

installing i2p at work, and expecting it to work
Sorry mate, that ain't gonna happen. I already am a regular there though.

Yeah, the infrastructure people in my office also managed to block the shit out of everything, most messageboards were listed as "blogs and personal". It's not like they themselves are savvy internet people, the firewall they purchased already has these lists and the provider constantly updates them.

Unfortunately for them, they also managed to block wikipedia so they had to remove it.

Does using a secure connection work? My old high school couldn't block any site using one.

lol, thanks for the cool story

I wish. The only thing that's useful for right now is making the google cache get through the filter.

Oh, wow... apparently somethingawful.com, the place 4chan users went to before 4chan (sorry if I triggered some people, but it was before my time so I really don't know better), hasn't been blocked this whole time.

Yeah... no. Fuck that.

Ok, they blocked everything again, wikipedia and all.
Maybe the list comes from the same provider. Post Office is unblocked (thus I can post this). dqn is blocked. The fucking forums for let's encrypt are blocked. Something Awful is, indeed, surprisingly unblocked.

Someone ought to tell Lowtax his site is so irrelevant that it's not even picked up by firewall lists.

why would someone even bother blocking dqn?
what do they have against mittens?

They are obviously glove-liking heretics!

Try forechan.org, tell me how it works out.

It's basically the remnants of remnants of 4chon.net users.

Hi, im an emissary of some little almost new hispanic alt chan named latinchan.org. We got an /int/ board, but sadly is dead as fuck, and mostly post there are lame and boring shitpost. Anyway, all of you are invited to pass and say hello. We try not be an assholes like *chan culture in general, specially like hispachan, that is the 4chan on hispanics image boards.

Yo admin: there's a bug in both how old this thread is and when its last reply was.

An unironic lefty /pol/ board? I love the great gulag and DPRK jokes are wonderful but this has me morbidly curious as to just what the denizens there think.
