Very nice! I recently did just the same. Had an old laptop in a drawer, collecting dust. Still had Windows 8.1 installed and due to me always putting it on standby and rarely ever shutting it down and cramping up the hard drive with garbage it slowed to a crawl to a point to being barely operable. Then I got my smartphone and realised I use that way more frequently than the old laptop and thus neglected my old pal even more.
But a few months ago a coworker told me he is using Linux only at home and I was, at the time, learning bash for my job so I decided to dig up the computer and try Ubuntu.
Really fun to mess around with and see what's beyond Windows (or Apple's OS for some).
