On the 250th day of the year Brazil celebrates its independence.
The last captive thylacine (an animal that looks like a Tasmanian Devil but even more menacing) died on September 7th, 1936. National Threatened Species day is been held annually on September 7th since 1996 to make sure we never lose another species like that.
