I mostly sat around and did some reading. I felt a little bad about not accomplishing anything, but at the same time is satisfying to just relax for an entire day and take it easy.

Two friends gave me a late night drie home. The passing lights and the bay and the conversation was really nice.

Mitten time is over.

It's raining very hard where I live. Today I almost got run over by a car, the driver of the car chased and confronted me, called me various names and threatened to punch me. I shrugged it off, told him that it was his mistake anyway and got on the bus.
I'm still a bit bummed out, but mostly amused about this.

But all of this doesn't matter now that the Post Office is back, this is the best thing that could happen today!

That's awful, I'm glad you're OK. Do pedestrians not have right of way where you live?

The roads around here are quiet, but the tourist season approaches and soon they'll be full of unfamiliar drivers at the end of long journeys. It's not so much fun on the road then.

It's very windy where I live at the moment. I went out for a walk yesterday, and the cool wind and bright sunlight over the hills were very refreshing. I'm glad spring is here.

They have — and I had. But the guy insisted he had right of way because he was in a car and I was a puny pedestrian.

The rain let up and eventually stopped and now it's really nice and sunny. Too bad work is starting in a few minutes.
I hope the weather will be as nice tomorrow as it is now, for then I can get out the bicycle and ride around the field tracks.

I'm currently working on some Post Office frontpage art-style papercrafts. Once they are done I will snap a few photos in the nearby woods and by a river with them and upload the templates.
Should I make them according to a specific scale so they are Nendoroid or Figma compatible or something like that?

This has been such a great day for me and finding Afternoon Cafe back up again after coming home was just icing on the cake. I've also read the big Aria thread on /a/, what with the new OVA news and all. It's just all so nostalgic and warm. Maybe I should give Aria a rewatch, or reread the manga. Or better yet, finish YKK after all this time.

>>613
Hmm, were you the anon I talked to about still being around in a decade?

I recommend finishing YKK, I only did the same last month. Before that, I just didn't really want it to end, so I avoided reading the last volume, but Ashinano handled it better than I thought he would and I feel it actually improved the experience. Time accelerates a bit towards the end, but it helps clear up a few points.

No, I only made in time to post the very last reply of that thread and couldn't really participate in the discussion. But I had a smile on my face as I read your conversation with that other anon. I really hope Afternoon Cafe also stays around for a decade. How many years has it been already? Two, or probably three I think.

I heard the ending was one of the strongest points of YKK. But I'm a bit reluctant restarting, as I would like to read it during a less busy time of my life. But then again, maybe it would be a better experience reading a chapter each night after coming home a bit tired. I don't know, I can't decide.

Today, temperatures were nearly at 20°C and at one moment I just took all of my paperwork and went into the garden. I worked a bit on it, then I curled up on a bench and slept for a while.
I never slept outside before and it just was incredibly nice. I was lying there, felt the light breeze on my skin and heard the wind rustling the leaves.

My hard drive that had Aria, YKK and a lot of other things decided to corrupt everything, despite being one of the newest hard drives I have. The weather is horrid, I've been a NEET for two months now and will still be one for another three, I can't find a job, I don't want to go for an unemployment benefit because of all the obligations and soon-to-be studies, I can't legally drive, I need to sell some stuff so I can buy that entire Aria collection I've been eyeballing for the past year, I'm tired, I need to clean my room, I want to get rid of a hobby or two, I need to fix some of my stuff, and I need to get legal help regarding policies and big companies.

Today is what feels like the first real day of spring. All the women were in miniskirts. The breeze was great. The sun actually warmed my sun for the first time in months.
Here's the thing, I LOVE winter. Even so, the feeling of spring is really nice today.
630 Name: Anonymous : 2015-04-15 17:43
The weather has been really nice for the past few days around here. It's interesting seeing how people have reacted to it - some are still wearing full on winter coats and hats, but others are down to sundresses and shorts already! I got the garden ready for growing and planted everything yesterday. Hopefully I haven't mistimed spring...

641 Name: Anonymous : 2015-04-26 23:51
It was raining today, so I decided to put on my waterproofs and walk into town. The sound of raindrops on leaves is nice, anyway! Rain isn't so bad when you're prepared for it.

There's a little footpath connecting my village to the nearby town that I suspect is an ancient way, so I've been trying to connect the dots to see if I can figure out the full route recently. All signs certainly point to it being very old; the ones that stand out are the way it appears to follow the old parish boundaries (usually much older than the actual parish), and that there's a section called Love(r's) Lane. I've stalled on trying to figure it out recently, but a friend has pointed me towards a section that I hadn't walked before, and after following it today I suspect they're right about it being part of the old path. I always enjoy the fact that even today people walk the route the same way they would have thousands of years ago; that only time separates them from the people who would have walked it then.
642 Name: Anonymous : 2015-05-02 03:04
It's been really sunny out lately. As a sufferer of seasonal depression this is a really nice change for me. I've been making an effort to get out of the house whenever possible and enjoy the sunshine, this is making a huge benefit in my mood.

Life is beautiful again!

Today I saw a bunch of sheep being herded through the forest!

http://imgur.com/IiF00mL,kcJTcgY,Aistffk

The guy behind them told me he'd been using Google Maps to check the route, but it wasn't really necessary because the sheep took all the right turns after walking the same route only 2 times before! There were a few adventurous sheep who went exploring every now and then but his dog (who wore a cute reflective vest!) quickly herded them back.

Today I stalked a bunch of baby fox pups and took video of them play fighting. There were four of them by a river, in a forest, next to a cemetery. I eventually got too close and scared them into their den.

How do you shake an existential crisis?
I can't stop wondering about things that I'll never know the answers to, like why the universe exists, or if what I'm experiencing is real, or what will happen when I die. I wish I could just stop thinking about these things.
665 Name: Anonymous : 2015-05-15 22:14
>>664
Well, think of a risk-reward or cost-benefit analysis.
What can you do about X?
The only thing that can be done about X is to worry about X.
Okay, what positive things do you get out of worrying about X?
None.
Negative things?
Yes.
What are they?
Existential crisis.
So we have established that the only thing you can do about X is that one can can worry about X. And worrying about X causes the negative event 'existential crisis'. Therefore, you should not preform that action. But that does not really help I guess 'cause all I'm telling you to do is to stop doing it. Thinking like that helped me a lot, though.

Free will doesn't exist. When making "choices" our brain just algorithmically evaluates things. We are biological machines and have no say in what actually happens. Life is an illusion. Free will doesn't exist. The universe is meaningless.
670 Name: Anonymous : 2015-05-23 18:42

Yes, because typing on a keyboard totally related to a biological need.

>>669
I've never got this viewpoint. It only doesn't exist if you sort of "carve out" free will into an entity of it's own, like some sort of random number generator inside your head. What you perceive as free will _is_ the result of those "algorithmic evaluations", but that doesn't mean you're any less of an individual, as those are still your evaluations.

From my bed, I can hear the sounds of this town at night. I hear the propellers of the old airplanes flying overhead, as well as a helicopter every now and then. I can hear the crickets chirping and a dog barking in the distance. I can also hear some birds by the window occasionally peeping. Roosters are always crowing somewhere, either far away or nearby. The fan in my room is slowly revolving, and it rhythmically ticks as it spins. I also hear the sounds of the house settling into itself, periodically creaking, as old homes do. Sometimes I hear branches and leaves outside, but I do not know if it is a person, an animal, or the wind stepping about.

I can also smell the cool night air when the breeze blows the right way.

When making "choices" our brain just algorithmically evaluates things.
That sounds just as much of an illusion. Really, is this "evaluation" process really an algorithm, or is this percieved heuristic just mere apophenia? Consciously taking decisions obviously does follow some sort of organized deterministic weighting process, but is the subconscious (which is really the ultimate answer to these deterministic fixations: "you did it because the subconscious wanted you to") really an "algorithm"? Is irrationality even possible on such a scenario? Maybe its just plain arbitrary, but this isn't compatible with our actions, is it? We don't act irrationaly 24/7, so rationality is inherently autonomous, not dictated or determined. It's even able to trascend current condition, is this not free will?
