Video Games

Why are retro video game prices so inflated? I want to buy them, but extremely common games seem to go for 30 dollars. I hope prices go down soon.
2 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-04 14:59
I would recommend checking your local classifieds for better deals. Thrift stores and garage sales are also great for that.
3 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-04 16:55
Now's still a good time to buy consoles that aren't by the Nintendo, but I can see them rising in prices also. I'm thinking about just buying flashcarts for my old consoles.

Starbound looks fun

I keep hearing about Starbound, but what is the appeal? The site doesn't really explain the hype; is it terraria done right?
6 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-04 19:43

It basically does look like Terraria/Minecraft but more fleshed out with way more content. You can actually use furniture like chairs, farming system along with a cooking system (with specific categories like drink, snack, main course, etc), different races, lore with books and stuff like in the elder scrolls games, vehicles, etc.

There's also an infinite number of randomly generated planets to fly to with tons of variables like terrain, biomes, gravity, fauna, creatures (which are randomly generated themselves), towns and dungeons (again randomly generated and vary in style depending on what race they belong to, like the bird people an Aztec style and robots have medieval castles). All kinds of things that will hopefully make exploring fun for a good while.

Unfortunately it's a game I'm hyped for which means it will probably turn out to be bad ( ´_ゝ`)

That sounds really interesting, I'll keep an eye on it.

(´・ω・`) I watched a video of it. Looks neat but just as you said, I think it's going to be not so good. Isn't it just basically Terraria with some extra stuff?
9 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-05 15:38
With the Sims 4 announced, I thought I'd give the Sims 3 a real try. It took the entire morning to install all the expansion packs, but now I'm finally two hours into the game. The open world is very fun and you can really do a lot. Building homes can be as extensive as you like it and the customization is endless and easy. I still have to get used to the doll-like faces, though.

Isn't it just basically Terraria with some extra stuff?

I dunno, it kinda looks that way. But a terraria with enough extra things that make it so it doesn't get boring after 5 hours would be great, and hopefully that's what starbound is

Does your area have a private game shop? As in not Gamestop/EBgames? I've always found prices to be lower at my local privately owned small game shop than at Gamestop. The people are nicer too.

Are there any arcades in your area? I really wish we had some here in Germany.

I guess I won't be able to play it on my DS Lite

I can confirm this. Gamestop is really utter shit in terms of costumer service and price compared to the local corner shops. >>1-san, you should also check out flea markets in your area.

I bought FF12 last year. Needless to say I am dissapointed. Those Offline MMOs don't fit me.
16 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-08 13:57
Flea markets are great, but you have to get up really early if you want to find anything good. Usually it takes up an entire day and it's a gamble.

It's not out where I live, but I heard some cities got them early? I don't know, but for me it's only a few more days.

If it's one thing I've learned at E3 so far, it's that game developers really love shoehorning in tablet/smartphone gimmicks

How many of you fine folk are enjoying the new Animal Crossing? I'm only a day in because of Amazon botching my shipping, but I'm so happy with it so far.

I'm going to wait until there's an AC announced for the WiiU and buy one of those. If the last 2 AC games are any indication the console version is going to be an upgraded port of the handheld version, and I don't really like playing games on handhelds anyway

I visited someone's town in New Leaf and it made me feel bad about my own town and house
33 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-23 17:49
>>32
There's no reason to feel bad; the game is just barely out. You'll have enough time to put together your cute town.
34 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-25 05:28
>>32
Yea, I'm way behind compared to all my friends in terms of making my town neat and pretty. I'm putting as much time into it, but I'm focusing on creating cross pollinations before I actually landscape with my flowers, and on saving my bells up in my account to get all the rewards for that instead of buying public works projects. Still makes me feel a bit bad that i'm not yet living in a perfect town.
35 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-26 11:20
I just got the very last cage in Rayman 2 and I'm now just 1 lum away from 100% completion. This feels very satisfying because I didn't use any guides. The last lum is hidden somewhere in the first level so this is the perfect ending to a long journey.
36 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-26 16:17
>>35
I now have 999/999 lums and 80/80 cages. Yet my progress is still 99.9%! I remember that the final boss ate one of the lums during a cutscene, lowering the number of collectibles from 1000 to 999; maybe I have to defeat him once more.
37 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-26 18:52
>>36

Oh god, I remember this. This was one of the best games ever! I lost my disc though... It was also damaged, not allowing me to pass after defeating the robot army in the mid game or something... I thought about getting it again
38 Name: Anonymous : 2013-06-26 19:01
>>36
I had to swallow my pride a bit and look up the location of the last lum when defeating the final boss did nothing. It was hidden in the graveyard level, presumably because the lum died when it was eaten.

You really had to know where to find the room it was hidden in, though. Because the path to it wasn't visible from places you could normally stand.

I had to fly around a shadowy corner and there I was greeted by a staircase spiraling down. Reaching the bottom, I stood eye to eye with a gigantic glowing skull across a lake of acid. Space pirates jumped out of each eye hole and started shooting at me. After defeating the two, a keg floated to the surface of the acid and I could advance. Another pair of pirates sprung up and, in turn, another keg appeared after their death.

I had now reached the last keg and three little spiders came crawling out of the skull. They didn't seem to attack me and I quickly dealt with them. I could now see a single lum floating in the left eye-socket. There was a spiders-web spanning the width of the room at the foot of the skull. I jumped onto it and gently floated into the left eye-socket. I captured the lum and was celebrated with a big 'YAHOOO' that popped up on the screen. There was a sharp decline after the skull and I dropped to the black.

I was then dropped somewhere in the level and everything was business as usual. I started with a lum count of 50/50 and this was still the case. I was worried there might be another challenge for the 100% completion I was pining for. Thankfully after finishing the level the save screen put me at ease. After my initals it said '100%'. Victory at last.

I somehow felt like writing this down. Thanks for reading.

What games are you looking forward to for the rest of the year, Post Officers? For me it's

-The Space Station 13 remake. SS13 has always been hit or miss with me, but I've been playing it for over 7 years and the thought of playing it on an engine that doesn't suck makes me giddy

-GTA5. It will likely be the last console game I ever play (at least for a good while), and I'm paranoid my 360 will die before I can finish it as a final twist of the knife. I'll probably end up getting the PC version too if/when that comes out, assuming I've upgraded by then and they don't drop the ball with the port.

-Starbound. Already mentioned in the thread. I hope it's fun

-Project Zomboid. I'm not as into zombies as some people are, but an open-ended ultimately hopeless survival game with permadeath sounds fun.

Osamu Sato, the guy who made LSD and its sequel Eastern Mind also made Chu-Ten (the kanji translates to something like 'middle heaven'). Only 100 or so copies were ever made and nobody was able to find and rip a copy until now. The soundtrack has been readily available, though.

Chu-Ten is kind of s sequel to Eastern Mind and doesn't have that much bearings with LSD at all except its trippiness.

It's a great RPG, one of my favorites. You should play Earthbound first though. The story isn't very related but there are a lot of references to it in Mother 3.

I really prefer Earthbound, because it has amazing personality and I thought the themes were actually more bold and went deeper than in Mother 3. I highly recommend both, but only Earthbound is a masterpiece.

My Animal Crossing town is never gonna be as cool as the official Nintendo one. I should just die!
67 Name: Anonymous : 2013-07-08 21:34
>>65
Eh, Mother 2 is bolder, but most of the time it feels like a shock and awe sort of boldness. 3 has a better narrative/gameplay on the whole, a grasp on subtleties of both. It's inches closer to perfection, and while Mother 2 certainly made me feel things at times, Mother 3 is the only game that's ever made me feel emotions as complex and involved as it did.

Everyone should play both for sure, though. Itoi is a wonderful creative mind whose work I hope to see more of in the future.

What is, in your opinion the most easily playable Metroid game available for the Wii/Gamecube?
By this I mean easy controls.
78 Name: Anonymous : 2013-08-06 01:39
>>76
I haven't played it, but I was around when a friend of mine finished it and he seemed pretty disappointed in the final boss fight and the story's conclusion. I'd probably still go ahead and finish it just because you're already so far into it.

>>77
The Metroid Prime games are really great but the controls might take some getting used to. You may want to start with Super Metroid because it's in 2D and would be easier to control. I think you can download it on the Wii.

Eeeh, I asked because I want to introduce my sister to the Metroid games, but if the controls are hard and she can't just dive into it she won't bother. She has depression. I've read it more comfortable to hold than a 3DSxl and a little but more comfortable than a 3DS. The reason they said *because* it's flat. The weight balances itself out and you don't have to use any energy to prop it up.

Putting aside the fact that it sounds like a parody system, the 2DS is a ridiculously smart idea on their part. Advertise their system as having increasingly kid friendly features/as being more durable, chop the price down, and then sit back while every mother buys their kid the 130 dollar Pokemon machine they never knew they needed. If there were anything they could do to capture the audience of families who don't already own one, this is it.

Playing anything on a real NES is so satisfying. I always used ROMs my whole life since I was poor and wasn't a fan of owning hardware when there was an alternative anyway, but one time I was given the opportunity to go through Mega Man 2/3 on a real machine, and it was an amazing experience.

Speaking of which, somebody is porting Mega Man 9 to NES!

http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,16882.0.html

I love this game so much. I don't know the specifics of the console or how this is being made exactly, but it will probably be possible to flash it onto a cartridge and play it that way, yes? So cool.

Finished The Wonderful 101 yesterday.

Absolutely fantastic game, it has some problems with unintuitiveness and jank ass platforming but it's obvious how much fun the devs had making it. One thing that really impressed me is that every member of the W100 has their own title and personalised logo, they must have hired some graphic design intern and told him to do whatever.

The english voice acting and script are great too.

My set up before was having the PS2 hooked up to a my crt using the standard AV cable with a little scart adapter. Now that I have a cable that hooks up to the TV directly via RGB SCART the colours are much clearer because they are sent individually through the R, G and B channel. The effects are fairly noticable, but the image could be even better if I splurged more on cables; I went with a cheap one this time. Because the signal is analog, the quality of the cables really matters for the quality of the image.

Definitely needs more content/balancing to happen, but just exploring the cosmos and making little settlements in the vast strangeness of space, the chill quiet laid back atmosphere and setting is really setting it aside from my experience with Terraria and Minecraft.

Everyone can play.

Minetest. http://minetest.net/
This is a 100% FOSS clone of Minecraft, but taken in the direction of expanding the games capabilities instead of making more potion recipes. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!) It's written in C++ instead of Java, giving it no limit's on the floor or ceiling. You can build a tower upward forever, or dig a hole hole to hell infinitely. Mods are written in Lua, and the modding community on the forums has come out with some seriously great ones.

I'm going to be replaying The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the 2nd or 3rd time.

I feel like I'm one of the very few hardcore Zelda fans who appreciates Twilight Princess. I know it came off as a Ocarina of Time clone with forced grimdark themes, but it's a solid game. It certainly has its moments of not-so-fun gameplay (mainly the extremely long beginning and the Tear collecting sequences), but plenty of other Zelda games have had this flaw. For me, I loved the atmosphere of the game and the great OST. There were a few really memorable settings as well, such as the ice mansion for a dungeon, or the whole Gerudo Desert part with Arbiter's Grounds (which I thought was way better than the Gerudo Desert + Spirit Temple in OOT). I wouldn't say it's "better" or "worse" than any of the other 3D Zeldas, because for the most part they've been drastically different from each other (well, besides Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask). But I don't like the negative attitude that surrounds Twilight Princess, because it's a great game, and a great Zelda game.
175 Name: Anonymous : 2014-02-08 05:19
>>174

Oh god, I'm so glad someone feels the same way. To be honest, I've always seen TP as basically Ocarina with fewer flaws. Just a great big gorgeous world, a solid adventure, and some of the best design work from Nintendo, period. It certainly didn't break form in the slightest, but it's honestly the first time all the pieces really came together as well as it did for the franchise. It's always such a shock when people chew me out for putting it in my top five for the series, I've never really been able to get a solid answer on how so many people consider it to be so much worse than the other 3D Zeldas(especially since so many of them turn around to praise Skyward Sword).

I started playing Deadly Premonition. It was a little hard to get into first but now I'm in the swing of it--it's kind of difficult to control and navigate, and it's hard to tell whether you should be focusing on the main objectives or wandering around and meeting people at the beginning. It makes me a little sad when I run out of things to talk to in the car with York. Even though it's not justified in the game, I really like the main map that shows you where all the characters are. It's really interesting that they all live their own scripted lives. It's not difficult to take the little bit of a world that Deadly Premonition shows you and imagine a lot more behind it.
177 Name: Anonymous : 2014-02-17 20:20
I've been trying the new 3DS Monster Hunter Demo.
Everyone says these games are great, but I just cannot understand the controls.
178 Name: Anonymous : 2014-02-18 15:47
>>177

The controls are notoriously terrible. If I remember correctly, even the first game in the series required you to claw (move with the left analog stick, control the camera with the d-pad) even though the PS2 controller had a right analog stick. That's also how it worked on the PSP games (FU and P3rd). You actually get used to it after about 30 hours of playing the game and your hand starts hurting less.

However, things are different now that MH is on the 3DS. It's impossible to claw like you could in previous games due to the positioning of the d-pad and analog but you can lock the camera onto the large monsters by tapping L. It's just another terrible control scheme to get used to. Underwater fights are abysmal due to the controls. I've sort of warmed up to the controls on the 3DS. It's not as bad on the Wii U where you have dual analogs, I'd imagine.

MH certainly isn't for everyone.
179 Name: Anonymous : 2014-02-19 02:49
>>178

It isn't really a problem if you have the peripheral that gives you a second analogue stick. I played solo through every fight in the game just fine with that, although I can't imagine living without it.
180 Name: Anonymous : 2014-02-19 14:12
>>179

I've used the CPP before. It didn't sit too well with me. While it was easier to move the camera around, the fact that the second analog stick was right next to the ABXY buttons just felt really awkward. Usually most controllers have the analogs above or below the other face buttons, not adjacent. I'm pretty sure it's not too hard to get used to, though.

It's a lot different from KORG DS-10, pretty convoluted. From what I've read it's better for something different than DS-10. The creators have said they're currently working on their next 3DS outing, which may combine these two approaches.

It'll take me a while to get used to it. I honestly haven't even made anything significant yet. But I plan on making it one of my primary musicmaking things, since it exports a midi. I think the only other DS/3DS game that does that is the Rhythm Core Alpha series, which I don't have. I just had Rytmik before, which is a joy to use but the only way to capture the audio is raw recording.

You can try M01D if you have a flashcart, it started on DS. I think it was an Amazon Japan exclusive thing, too.

192 Name: silent protagonist : 2014-02-28 09:14

If you are starting relatively fresh to synths like me, M01D is hard to learn.

The problem with raw recording is, again, starting fresh. You have to get the equipment, and then when it's actually on the computer, you must edit raw sound files instead of just a structured MIDI. With a MIDI, it slides in easily integrating with other music programs and you can change things.

M01D was a physical cartridge. I was saying that, if you have a flashcart, you can sort-of demo the 3DS M01D by downloading the DS one and trying that for free. Flashcart compatibility on 3DS is dodgy and I haven't bothered with it, but I do know it's possible.
DSiWare is part of the eShop, though.

You blow a balloon around with a pinwheel (your mouse cursor) trying to get flowers falling from the sky into a bottle attached to the balloon's string.

My, my, what a coincidence. I just finished Attack of the Friday Monsters (3DS), which is also made by Millenium Kitchen. I really recommend it, it reminded me a lot of the Post Office.

It is part of GUILD02, which is kind of like a gamejam? I think. A gamejam for 3DS, organized and published by LEVEL 5.
It has english subtitles.

You can read more about it here http://www.guild-series.jp/02/kaijuu/

I'm currently playing Project X Zone (3DS) and it's pretty good and extremely horrible at the same time. I can sink hour after hour into the shallow Missions, because the combos and just wiping the enemies away feels so rewarding. I just wish it would end so I can play something good but at the same time I could play another 20 hours.

Is this what MMO games feel like?

Attack of the Friday Monsters is awesome.

>>201
I started PXZ but never continued. It's really a treat of a game, but yeah the difficulty. Some day! It's great when you see a favourite obscure character.

>>207
It's more of a Tecmo-Koei game. Other M was all boobed up too. They seem to require boobs in their games.

>>208
A large group of select people. I am 27 years old (I had to pause, calculate, and pause in disbelief for a moment). For a huge number of people around my age, Pokémon was and continues to be an important part of our lives. It was a very personal thing, which also happened to be embraced and shared by the worldwide community, even to this day. How awesome it is to share this rich fictional world together.

Minecraft is also popular, but that doesn't diminish it's value at all. It's a game which allows users to be creative. It's also really grindy and pretty much an alpha game that never got finished. I haven't put the effort into learning all it's systems, so I don't play it very often. But when I do play, I enjoy my time there. Playing with people is really the way to play, to share and build things you never could have otherwise.

I understand if you dislike something because it's popular. It's illogical to the core - why should we dislike people enjoying themselves? I often make this leap. But don't make the mistake of dismissing something because of it's popularity. There are plenty of people who play these things and never even talk about them, and just enjoy them as a personal casual pastime. We just hear from the vocal ones who engage each other and find joy in community.

It doesn't bother me because it's popular, I dislike it because it has nothing to do with iyashi lifestyle or taking it easy. Nostalgia is a strong connection with iyashi lifestyle, but that doesn't seem to be the angle with these posts about minecraft and pokemon. And besides that it feels out of place to have it play such a big role.

I just get the feeling that people confuse this place with textboards without a set topic. Textboards where common nerd culture is the largest binding factor.

I've been thinking about getting a new console but I'm not sure about what console to buy. The new Xbox and Playstation are out of the question, most stuff that comes out on those consoles will come out on PC sooner or later and good PC parts aren't that expensive anymore if you look closely or just wait a little.

So I've been thinking about getting one of the consoles mentioned in the title.

I'm currently leaning a lot to the Wii U since you can play Wii games and games like SSB and Mario Kart are exclusive. Vita doesn't let you play PSP games instead you have to buy them in the store. Not that I had a PSP to begin with but still. The 3DS is region locked and I already have a NDS that is NOT region locked. While the Wii U is still region locked at the moment the pressure will hopefully get to Nintendo.

What do you think? What console have YOU got?!
223 Name: Anonymous : 2014-08-09 00:44
>>222
I think you should choose on what you think you will have the most fun with for the longest. It's with the user's affinity with the console. I've had a PS1, PS2, and a GBA, and now I have a PS3, and a psp, and I've had the most fun with a psp. It's how many years old now, and it still takes my heart with the consoles. Though I did borrow my cousin's DS and thoroughly enjoyed playing through various games such as Cooking Mama and Pokemon. My GBA somehow broke down and disappeared through the passing of time, but my PSP quickly replaced it. So far, they've all made me happy.

I'd be going down the Nintendo route for now, since they still have the same power in the market. Sony and Microsoft hasn't been doing very well in my opinion, console-wise that is. Though I really don't like region locks, which sways me away from Nintendo slightly. Apart from that, I look forward to buying a 3DS early next year and play Monster Hunter with my friends.

I know it sounds cheesy, but it's not about the console itself, it's the bond that you make with it.

3DS, Xbox 360, nearly all of the Gameboys, and two PSP-1000s. (Though the UMD drive broke in a funny story.) I love my 3DS.

I want a WiiU pretty damn badly. That Xenoblade game looks great. The Xbox One is so hilariously bad. The PS3 just does not interest me.

I think I'm going to go though almost all of the LucasArts games because they're pretty awesome.
I played Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and I just finished The Dig.
The Dig was absolutely amazing, the story was great, the music was really good and the visuals were some of the best I've seen in a videogame.
I really want to play Riven but my toaster has some performance problems with the new port (It's probably related to scaling the image to this big monitor) and ScummVM doesn't exactly work 100% right.

>>234
I guess you could compare it to the DSi, and hopefully it will have a similarly low amount of good exclusive software so I won't end up having to buy one. The main improvement is that it can track your face, so that the 3D effect won't become blurry if you view the screen from other angles. According to the Famitsu guys who got to try it, even shaking it considerably didn't give a blurry image. The processor and memory are also upgraded, and there are extra buttons, including a "c-stick" which feels like a ThinkPad nipple mouse.

I think it would be a worthy buy for those on the fence about buying a 3DS in the first place, but I would wait at least a year after its release in your country for a price drop.

Hey, are you from the Umihara Kawase thread on /vr/? In any case, i'll say give it a try to Megaman Legends 2. Although it's a very action oriented game, most of the areas you go through aside of the dungeons are very chill and nice in the sense of having a calm atmosphere in it. Has anybody here played UFO: A Day in the Life?

I discovered this brilliant Japan-only game recently, and I've fallen in love with it. It's not too heavy on dialogue (as in, there's almost none) so you can definitely enjoy it without knowing the language.

It's a beautiful game with watercolor graphics, a great soundtrack, and a very unique premise: you are a crashlanded alien who must find your friends, but you do so by observing the rooms in an apartment complex for every hour of the day, just watching how people live their everyday, weird, uneventful, and surprising lives. It's created by the masters at Love De Lic, and if any of you have a chance to check it out, I can't recommend it enough.

I'd pitch in for it. I haven't played Minecraft in years, but if there was a Post Office server I'd be willing to hop back on.

I'd be down for Minetest but I don't feel like buying proprietary software.

A free solution sounds like a better idea, too. The price of a license for Minecraft has gone up a lot since I bought it all those years ago!

Setting up a Minecraft server to accept non-registered users (read: people who didn't purchase Minecraft) is trivially easy. I opt for Minecraft because to my understanding, it has way more third party content available. If you guys have moral qualms about acquiring closed-source software through alternative means though, then Minetest it is, although you won't find readily available pre-configured servers for Minetest.

It's not like it's hard to set one up. I just don't have the hardware for it.

Who would have thought – Breath of the Wild is pretty iyashikei. I'm spending most of the time just relaxing and exploring on my own pace. Most fights can be entirely sidestepped. Climbing cliffs and finding nice, scenic spots is an reward in itself.
This is great!

Most Zelda games are pretty comfy. The fishing is my favorite thing about Ocarina. Twilight Princess has a really great fishing hole too.
I really wanna play Breath of the Wild, but I'm unfortunately broke. How does it compare to the Elder Scrolls games in terms of world size and exploration?

Someone ported Spelunky Classic to Android, so I've been rediscovering my addiction.

It's really good. Really, really good. The exploring is the best part. I hate to gush about it, so I'll keep it short but a game like Breath of the Wild is one that I've been waiting for all my life. It's everything I wanted in the exploration aspect of Wind Waker.

Exploration's always been my favorite thing about Zelda games, so that sounds awesome. I've been thinking about getting a Switch. I think I'll wait for a price drop and more games, though.
It's funny. As much shit as Nintendo gets for being "kiddy," the older I get, the more they're the only current console maker whose stuff appeals to me.

I have bought a switch more or less on a whim with Zelda.
Honestly, I have way too much fun with it.
Going through the story at a snail's pace, constantly busy exploring and doing things on the side and discovering new things, it's a great experience that I haven't had with any games in a long time.

Though I do regret spoiling myself, even if it was just a little bit of the beginning of the game, it would've been nicer if I didn't watch it on youtube out of curiosity.

Modding dwarf fortress has become a sort of hobby of mine as of late.

What sort of things by a do you do? I never would have thought of a game like Dwarf Fortress as having a mod scene.

It started with the simple things, adding silly text to things. Now I can create materials, creatures, civilizations with a myriad of ethics and book strings. DF is quite a lot of fun this way; especially when the vanilla game's become rather... tame. (Nooo, come back, sieges! I miss yoooouuu!)

I recently discovered the Densha De Go "Lets go by train!" series. They're solid good, comfy fun. I just wish the tracks were longer.

I'm kind of interested in those. How playable are they if you don't know Japanese?

Got Divinity Original Sin 2 from one of these shady key sites for 20 bucks to play it in coop with a fren. I hope it's some lengthy RPG so sinks a few dozen hours into. Due to different time schedules we didn't play it yet.
I'm playing Alien Isolation in the meantime and it's a very good game which achieves what it aims to achieve: Gripping atmosphere and horror.

You'll have to learn the controls, and the concept of braking, and arriving on time. As you play, you'll hopefully pick up words and such.

Hi, anon from the future here. Just want to tell you that Starbound is a great game, unfortunately, the devs have stopped updating it to work on newer games.

Currently alternating between Vermintide2 and Total Warhamner 2. Dug up a save from last year which is at turn 160 or. The community already kinda agreed on the early/mid game being the most interesting part and then just start a new campaign once you're bored with the late game. This means that few campaigns ever get played to the very end because it gets pretty boring later on but I want to finish a game for once!
But I also can't deny the tediousness of the lategame so whenever I get too bored I launch Vermintide for some quick action and then play TW:WH2 again.
