Mountains!

The post mentioning Yama no Susume reminded of my climbing trip that I took back in April. I climbed up El Pico Duarte in the Dominican Republic and it was a great experience, so I was wondering if any of you like hiking/mountain climbing. Any mountains you've hiked up recently? Any trails you like in particular? Post some pictures too if you want. It's a great season for mountain climbing!

Here's an album of some photos I took while on the trip. Be warned, it's pretty big and I'm no photographer, but I thought some people might be interested.

Your pictures are fantastic. This is something I would probably enjoy doing with friends.

I liked the pictures of the bridge and the green mountain top best. Looks like you had a lot of fun!

I love mountain climbing and especially hiking, between the ages of 3 to 12 I visited the swedish/norwegian mountain range (knowns as "fjällen") twice a year, either going ski touring in the winter and hiking in the summer.
I'm actually planning a trip down "kungsleden" (The king's trail) with a few friends in august, we're gonna take the train up to "Abisko" where the trail begins and then walk and sleep in tents for three days until we reach Kebnekaise which is Sweden's highest mountain. If the weather is all right I'm hoping to scale the mountain too, the path up is very easy and prepared as many school kids and elderly come there so we're not really doing it for the challenge but rather for the experience of having been on the highest point..
I'll upload some pictures from past expeditions in a sec

Oh wow, sorry about the HUGE post with no formatting at all, anyway, here are some picks from "grövelsjön" and "jämtlandstriangeln". We were four guys who walked the jämtlandstriangel during easter earlier this year, it's a very popular route where you ski about 1.9km a day which is something pretty much anyone can manage in less than ~8 hours.
We wanted to do it a little more "hardcore" though so even though we slept at stations we carried all our food and tents etc, preparing for future expeditions.
(the images with the annoying black dot are from grövelsjön which was with family, thus the women in some photos)

That place looks gorgeous. We never get any snow around here so I'm pretty jealous.

I want to go mountain climbing, but I don't have any near me. I have always loved heights; maybe I'll join a bouldering club.

I love mountains, especially when it gets foggy up there.

There it is again? Why have I read so many people on the calling their phones potato?

You know the idea of running electric currents through potatoes? It's just that while the quality on phone cameras are acceptable, they're just not as good as traditional cameras.

I wonder if anyone sells an actual potato-powered camera kit. I know there are potato clocks.

As a kid I was once given a science kit where you made a digital clock fun on saltwater batteries.
