What new things are you excited for in the future?

I'm excited for many new technology and advancements. But one I really wish and long to see in my lifetime is this:

Nothing. (ใ€€ยด_ใ‚`)

That's not a very gentle thought. What about being able to travel anywhere for very little money? What about people living longer and having more free time? What about printing 3D objects at home?

I'd have mixed feelings about the moon being lit up.
As for me, I think the best thing would be hologram communication, so it's easier to feel like you're close to someone even when you're far apart.

Ocultus rift. Fapping will never be the same. Finally I'll be able to unite with my dear waifu!

You might be used to talk like that on other textboards, but on the Post Office we don't really discuss waifus or fapping. We prefer to talk about more gentle and mundane things.

commercial space flight

Cheap electric/solar bikes.
There are already electric bikes, you pedal to charge them. Then when you get tired you let the motor take over. Now imagine having a small solar panel over the back tire to help charge it. You could go across the country without needing to rely on having money and gas stations.

Living in the United States, I am excited for having a better rail system. Light passenger rail everywhere. If that ever happens, it would be so cool.

I would like to move abroad in a few years' time. Probably to London, UK.

3D printers will change the world.

I know there's a lot of naysayers because of all the hype, I honestly believe so myself.

I have my doubts about 3d printers. I really do think they will be very important, but primarily for...Well, not consumers. Medicine, people like spaceX who use them. I cant see any real use for them, for the general public, except amongst people who are interested in tabletop wargaming and stuff.

I'll get a couple of chance to work with some 3D printers over the few years, so I'll be able to tell you how useful they are when the time comes.

I can't wait for winter, not because of the cold but because of what it does to my mood.

I really like the cold sometimes, when I can get used to it. I especially adore snow, though.

"I get a buzz from being cold and wet - the pleasure seems to balance out the pain."
Made me think of this, and agreed.
Song is "Blue, Red and Grey" by The Who, btw.

Id be more exited to start terraforming and colonizing mars, personally. The moon is a very barren place, though it would be great to build and launch space ships from.

I too picture the moon as a space port. Man, just think of it. Earths first spaceport! I think that something will be started in probably 70 years from now.

the port would need a nice name, after an important seaport of the past perhaps...

I'm looking forward to the mining of the moon. The moon could very possibly become a refueling station, because hydrogen can be mined on the moon, and it is very expensive to transport hydrogen off of the earth.
There's a great video about it here:

That was a pretty inspiring video. I hope with people like him and companies like spaceX we can open up the fontier, so to speak
