Does anyone have a collection of watches or clocks?
Quarts, automatic and mechanical are all fair parts to discuss.
I've got these two:

I collect Tamagotchi. They're not quite watches, but they're small and they tell time.

>>1Ah, I've been wondering what that green-dialled Seiko was since it appeared on the photoboard! That dial finish is beautiful.
The ones I get the most wear out of are a CWC G10 (
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e4/85/01/e48501cf7f6fdc6aa7152e81d7349dfb.jpg ) and as of recently a Casio M5610-1ER (
https://shop.r10s.jp/tokeiten/cabinet/g-shock-01/gw-m5610-1_5.jpg ). I've got a few mechanical movements too, but whilst I like the idea of them I find the accuracy/winding (even on automatics) is just enough of a barrier that they rarely get any wear.
Those Seamasters are really pretty, hadn't realised Omega had made any models with such clean faces. I'd like to pick up a Raketa Kopernik as a dress watch one day, but alas they've finally started shooting up in price...

>>3Thank you! I saw it and had to have it. My wrist is just a tad bit too small for it but I don't much care.
Dude... I've got my eye on one of them too.
Also I'm in the opposite boat. I've got 19 other quartz watches so I'm exclusively looking for mechanical and automatic movements only these days. Man is it pricey.
>>5Hell yeah. Do it.

>>6Cool. Those pink ones are quite larger than the others, I always thought they have more or less uniform size, are they all original produced by Bandai? I was also going to ask how many of them you keep alive, but apparently you play one at a time.

>>8The pink ones are pretty recent releases; newer Tamas run on AAAs instead of watch batteries, so they're quite a bit larger.

>>12They're genuinely a pretty nice watch, too. Iconic bit of product design, thin case, and eternal battery life even without solar power.

>>12Why is it a terrorist experience?

>>14https://i.warosu.org/data/g/img/0473/62/1428211170142.pngBecause it was given to AQ & AQI operatives as a graduation gift. Because it's cheap and easy to wire up as a timing detonator.

Oh, I actually bought a watch recently. You guys wouldn't be impressed though.
http://img.dxcdn.com/productimages/sku_327303_1.jpgIt's nice I really like looking at it. Less people have commented on it than I expected though...

>>19Skeleton watches are really interesting. The appeal of a watch for me I guess although I don't own one is that it's a complicated mechanical thing, and those kinds revel in that. Nice choice.

It's kind of interesting how, now that almost everyone carries a cell phone, watches have gone from essential tools to fashion accessories. I haven't worn a wristwatch since I was probably 15 or 16.

>>19Watches are really one of those things you wear for yourself rather than other people, I think - if you like the watch it's a sort of private joy.

I own a casio f-91w, to me it's the perfect bit of technology. It does exactly what it needs to do perfectly, and nothing more.
