Musica! will be Overdrive's last project. This makes me sad... Overdrive's KiraKira is what introduced me to the world of VNs.

So what about any of you lovely people, been playing any good VNs? Any recommendations?

I like the idea of visual novels, but I've only played a few. I enjoyed Katawa Shoujo, but didn't finish it. One of these days, I'll go back to it.
I did love Digital: A Love Story; it's only a couple hours long, so I finished it in one sitting.

If it's short you like and you happen to be a weeb, GoGoNippon is a rather short but overall great play.

I'm in the same boat as you in regards to Katawa Shoujo. Started it, but never finished it.

I'm late to the party, but I've been slowly working my way through Grisaia no Kajitsu over the summer. Continuing the trend, I've started Katawa Shoujo but haven't finished it, unfortunately.

I liked Fate/Stay Night a lot, but I'm not sure I could take something of that length again. I haven't finished Fate/Hollow Ataraxia for probably that reason.

That's a shame about Overdrive. Did you ever read Deardrops? And if so, what did you think about it? I really enjoyed KiraKira, but I never got around to touching Deardrops and haven't heard much about it in the meantime.

I think Subahibi was the only VN I managed to finish reading this year. I would highly recommend it to everyone here. It's decently long and starts rather slow, but it is absolutely worth the time investment. Aside from that, White Album 2's translation has been made some decent progress recently ( https://todokanaitl.github.io/patch/ ), so I was thinking of starting that now that it's winter. It's always struck me as a VN to save for snowy nights wrapped in cozy blankets.

Fate/Stay Night any good? Been steering clear of it as it seemed long with too many sequels and sides stories to catch up on.

No, never read Deardrops sadly. It's on my reading list though( which is getting bigger and unread ).
Subahibi. Might give that a read as soon as I'm done with Princess Evangile W Happiness which is a tad a disappointing and short compared to original, but still pretty good. No regrets yet.

Is White Album 2 fully translated or what? Just a little confused after a quick visit to the link.

White Album 2 was initially released as two separate games: Introductory Chapter and Closing Chapter. Introductory Chapter is what the anime more or less covered if you watched that, and Closing Chapter is a sequel to that. Then an extended release came out that bundled introductory chapter and closing chapter together with an epilogue chapter called Coda. So far the translation has fully finished introductory chapter and closing chapter, but not Coda yet.
They're active and seem to be making progress though, so I'm not worrying too much about Coda going untranslated. Even if it does go untranslated, introductory and closing chapters were meant to work as standalone entries in the series so I don't imagine leaving Coda unread will hurt me too much.

Thanks for the clarity. Much appreciated!

Fate doesn't have that many visual novel entries in it; you've seen pretty much everything there is to see if you complete Stay Night and Hollow Ataraxia, everything else is LNs/anime/video games. Both visual novel entries are quite good, but they're long; finishing all 3 routes in Fate/Stay Night took me around 100 hours, but I played with voices and didn't speedread or anything.

All in all, I recommend it if you have the time. The rest of the entries can be ignored (even Hollow Ataraxia) without losing any real context if you don't feel like going further, but I've become a fan of the franchise in general, I gotta say.

Fate/Extra and Extra CC are both heavy on visual novel side too.

You're not wrong, and Fate/Extra is quite pretty emulated - it's been fun playing it a little at a time on my tablet. I just assumed for the time being >>6 wanted a pure VN experience. I haven't played CC yet, but I hear good things about it.

I like VNs but I don't read many. I try to at least read one long/medium VN every year, but I didn't in 2018. orz
Speaking of Overdrive, the next VN I'm planning to read is Dengeki Stryker because I actually own the collector edition I once bought on sale on a whim. I hope it's good.

I last went back and played True Love, what a classic.
