Everyone says this and each time it only splits the existing oldfag community further, as well as bringing in dozens of newfag wannabes who roleplay as oldfags and proceed to make everything really self-referential and cliquey.

You do know more than 70% of all 4chan oldfags switched to social media right? Really no surprise considering 4chinz in the early days was just an edgy web 2.0 fad most people said they hated but secretly loved. If you want to find them try discord or reddit (not joking). Most of them are into retro tech and niche japanese video game shit. Also some of the classic 4chan spinoff boards have a few oldfags (mostly discord teens playing pretend though). Your best bet would be 420 and 7

I'm not a 2003 tier oldfag, I was 6 years too late for that but I think this is plausible.
I don't think much if any of the original userbase still lurks 4/b/ for example since it was already irrecognisable when I started lurking, let alone in 2019.
I think the longer you've been there, the higher the chances you broaden your horizons and find new and interesting places. I doubt someone with even just 5 years of lurking stayed in one place for very long. Sure, I too check back on some themed boards on 4chan now and then but I won't do the full time lurking a la press F5 on page one every 5 minutes anymore. A least not there. That's why I think the original oldfags are long gone elsewhere.

The concept is very good, but I was disappointed to see there's a politics board. Politics is one of the least comfy topics imaginable.

I accidentally found one with a very similar domain name using the same software. Excited to see it in action I open the different boards they have that differed from chen2. Unfortunately all they do at the other domain over hundreds of threads is lust over scandily clad tiktok teens dancing. Disappointed.
