Any anons around here listen to Vaporwave? I personally love it, some of my favorite artists being Whitewoods, 2814, and of course Vektroid. I also enjoy going on Bandcamp and just wandering around listening to albums by artists I've never heard of before. Makes for good background music when I'm doing other stuff.

Anyway, what about you anons?

i also like vaporwave. What i like about it is the use of synthesizers and aesthetic that reminds me of memories lost in time.one of my fav bands right now is gunship which has vaporwave-like songs.

link to a couple of their music videos

This definitely seems to be the more "meme-y" side of Vaporwave lol.

Raw 80s music is always good in my book. Goodness, it was such a different time.

Woah, nice find!

I started downloading the whole thing. Depending on its size, I might as well reupload it somewhere. A torrent would do.
12 Name: Anonymous : 2019-05-05 12:47
>>9 btw anybody knows the size of the archive in gigabytes?
13 Name: Anonymous : 2019-05-05 15:43

(polite sage for double post)

Why do you want to download it, if I may ask? Just to have it? Or do you want to mirror it somewhere for preservation's sake?

Have you listened to PrismCorp Virtual Enterprises? It's one of my favorites.

Glad to see someone else who likes PrismCorp! I always think the sound of PrismCorp albums is like an idealized nostalgia. Maybe "idealized nostagia" characterizes vaporwave in general.

To listen to it. I'm ALWAYS listening to music. Like, I don't remember a single day without at list 5-6 hours of music since years ago.

I hope I will discover new things in it.

I'm the same way. I listen to music while doing basically anything. I probably listen to 4-5 hours of music a day.

The Computer Trilogy is one of the greatest works of Broken Transmission around.

Corporate fake vhs effect neon grid palmtree shit is lame but actual vaporwave from the 70s and 80s is cool. I'm more into 90s era musical aesthetics myself though

Vaporwave is a modern genre. The "fake" stuff you talk about IS vaporwave. It's often described as nostalgia for a time you weren't even alive in.
Either you're incredibly ignorant or it's a huge misunderstanding.

This. I'm going to assume >>20 meant "actual music from the 70s and 80s", and just mistyped.

My thing is synthwave and future funk. It’s like vapourwave, but souped up a bit.

Love Synthwave as well. I like pretty much all the "wave" generas. Ambient is also really good.

Excellent... thanks for sharing

Y’all know a torrent tracker where I could upload the vapor wave archive mentioned in >>9 ?

Ideally it should allow anonymous uploads just like nyaa.si
27 Name: Anonymous : 2019-05-16 22:13
>>26
How big is the entire archive? Anything >10GB will probably not have many sustained seeders on a public tracker.
28 Name: Anonymous : 2019-05-16 22:36
120Gb
29 Name: Anonymous : 2019-05-16 22:37
>>27

Sorry. 120Gb

Also, I can seed for eternity don’t worry.
30 Name: Anonymous : 2019-05-17 00:07

If you're willing to probably be the only one seeding, rutracker (.org) is semi-public (can just create an account with throwaway email). It'll be better if you don't zip the entire thing beforehand since then people can just selectively download (and perhaps seed) the files they want instead of having to download all 120Gb at once.
31 Name: Anonymous : 2019-05-17 01:17
>>30
Yeah don’t worry I hate it when people do this (it just impeach me to seed since I have to remove the zip after extraction)

I've recently created a site dedicated to Vaporwave and other underground music generas: https://www.vaporscapes.net/

Feel free to take a look around if you'd like.

I love computer Decay. the computer trilogy as a whole is pretty great tbh.

added the site to my bookmarks! love sites like this. will be delving deeper into this later.

the computer trilogy is great, i agree, though decay's my favourite. i love IF's appearance in the intro to bones' album PaidProgramming2, probably my favourite of their songs.
