Random things that remind you of elementary school

... a sunny fall day, probably in the 50s maybe 60 or 61? Not very warm but also not deathly cold. Days like that remind me of elementary school so much. that and the smell of cleaning bleach. i think they used that a lot in the classrooms before we came in each day.

cleaning bleach
This more than anything else takes me back to the hallways of elementary school. It even happened to me just today walking around my work. I guess it isn't used that often outside of schools though.

Every day after I would come home from elementary school,
I would dive myself onto my parents' bed (I'd just stand in front of their room and then run up to the bed and jump on it). I don't know why I did that, but it was fun at the time and for some reason remains a fond memory.

The rising sun on an autumn day, the trees remind me of walking to school at 7am and leaving at 5pm, walking home with the streetlamps lighting up my path.

Ohh i feel that so so much. And I cannot wait for autumn to really kick in in October so I can simulate the feeling again when I walk down the forest-y hill to work.

Taking a seat on something hot or seeing a large sheet of polished metal.
Reminds of the wide shiny metal slide on the playground. Got insanely hot in the summer and almost painful to the touch. At these time we would have fun by trying to run up the slide without touching the suface with your hands. Didn't make it most of the time and had to take a sizzling trip to the bottom.

Pointless namecalling back and forth and needlessly drawing attention to yourself by not respecting social guidelines definitely also reminds me of elementary school.

Vortexes from the autumn breeze. I'd watch leaves
spin up and down and all around while waiting for the bus.

Easter, brick houses and sometimes the bible.
I attended an elementary school that was in an old brick building (with a more modern thing connected to it). It was a Christian school, so we did a lot of bible studies. Used to celebrate Easter every year, in the school and with my family.
I moved to a different country right afterwards and my new country had very few brick houses. It was very atheistic and secular, so I barely encountered the bible. Since we moved, we haven't really celebrated Easter at all.
I realised only now how nostalgic all these things feel.

Going out in the front of the house in the morning where it is bright, but chilly. Dew helps too. It's a very strange feeling when it does happen.

Halloween or at least the few days leading up to it. A lot of my memories from those days involve fall and brown leaves for some reason. I guess it's the time I liked the most. Christmas is absolutely overrated.

100% agree!when it starts getting dark earlier again and you can feel the tempratures dropping and see the tree leaves slowly turning yelllow and red, that has something very nostalgic.
